Hi there, we are also looking at the Euro Grey engineered Hardwood by bigots, it’s a Hickory with 2mm wear layer. (I know it’s thin)
We have returned so many different floor samples due to big surprises in the box versus the sample board. Not sure why they make the sample boards so pretty, they certainly don’t represent the product your going to get. I have been thru so many companies and they all do it.
We find that this colour will work for what we need but are scared to buy the box and end up with another useless box of wood. Would like to know how many pieces in the box are the 74” .
So… does anyone have any experience with the Engineered Wood

The active insecticide in this preparation is Imidacloprid. This is the same ingredient in the topical "topspot" flea and tick preparations (like Advantage and Advantix) used on dogs. This ingredient is toxic to cats. This insecticide is also marketed under the names "Marathon" and "Merit". One is for home gardening use on ornamentals, the other is for professional nursery use. I forgot which is which, both are VERY expensive. This is also the same ingredient Bayer puts into their "Rose and Flower care". The Rose and Flower preparation also has a fertilizer component, because it has been shown that the simultaneous application of a nitrogen fertilizer aids plants in uptaking the insecticide. The rose prep also has a second, different insecticide added. That is basically the ONLY difference between the tree and shrub prep and the flower and rose prep, except for a very very important difference: CONCENTRATION. The tree and shrub prep is over 4 times stronger than the rose and flower prep. You have to pay attention to how you are diluting it. I have used both of these products for scale and mealybug on heliconias, calatheas and gingers and frankly been very disappointed in their ability to get rid of these 2 predators. I have found that using something non-toxic like Neem Oil has worked 100 times better than this particular Bayer insecticide.

Hello Ed. Rather than searching all over with 1 in a million chance of finding a replacement, try this. Locate someone that sells yard art metal cut-out silhouettes and ask them to duplicate the old cover. A first class welding shop also has the necessary tool.

@RM Raymond looks beautiful!!! i am also sampling in duraseal product. thank you for posting several photos. i am going to try it alone cause i have tried it with rustic beige. i have also tried medium brown with rustic and weathered and classic gray. medium brown seems overall too reddish. golden brown may be a good fit to give enough coverage and keep that red orange pink away and still keep it light.

Chamois from Mapei and I'm not sure on the grout line size, I asked for as thin as possible. We have kids and have no issues so far. Our dog is an outside dog but he has come inside a few times and no claw marks or anything.

We bought and installed the hydrogen 6 series in the 'Marble' vinyl tile. We had the same issues that the installer in the Youtube video - the tonge/groove does not click easily when you're working on an adjacent row. We had to use sheer force and a regular hammer (not soft mallet) - which has never been our experience when using products like Coretec.

Also, we bought (have not installed yet) their Engineered hardwood as well in Alpine chalet. I can confirm that the colour looks off compared to the sample board. It is less 'golden' and more of a green/yellow which I am not too happy about. We will be installing the hardwood in the next 2 weeks, can give an update if anyone is interested!

We just selected the Biyork Breath of Winter engineered hardwood throughout our place. Now very concerned after reading these comments. Please post any pics or experience with this product. It may not be too late for me to change our selection. Thank you

We ended up buying the Euro Gray and it’s sitting in a room right now, looking like we will be happy with it. We bought ours from a great place in Toronto that stocked the product so I got to see a few boxes before we purchased it and plus it’s select and above so not so bad on the knots . This did take me almost 4 months to find! It’s not the most expensive floor but we have no plans on sanding it.

Thanks for asking this question and thank you for the responses. Almost bought Biyork natural hickory. Loved the sample but would have been very upset with short lengths.

So what’s a good reliable brand for hardwood?

Steph C, We are looking at purchasing and installing the Marble Vinyl tile, would you based on the color you received recommend it? Just wondering if you feel it is dark or the color you expected? Much waste on the install? Any other tips on the Hydrogen 6 product?

Based on the colour, it is very true to what is on their site. I just snapped a photo of our floors with natural light so you can see for yourself.

We wasted about 10% of what we ordered because the tonge kept snapping off, so I suggest ordering a bit more to account for that. Biyork suggested using a soft mallet to click into place but the tiles were not connecting using. We had to use a regular hammer, and the sheer force of forcing the tongue and groove together would snap the tongue in some spots.

It took us a lot longer to install because of that, but I feel we wasted a day or two trying to figure out a method that worked for us. Hopefully this helps so you can save some time!

Hi there, as i posted a few months ago, we now have installed the flooring, my husband and i did the floors so we know how they were laid. We glued and nailed the floors. This is the Biyork Euro Grey, there are quite a few 10" pieces but we were able to work with them since we are the installers. This floor is pretty consistent , not big surprises, We really really like it, its very warm, not very dark and works well with Grey or Browns or creams. These floors have not red and no yellow in them or big knots.

Disregard the furniture as that's all changing. When guest have come in they instantly comment on the floor. Not that we are looking for that but they do. These floors are distressed and hand scraped and they have enough sheen that they feel really nice. since we have the dog we felt we needed a floor that you don't need to worry about and this is it.

Hi everyone! I purchased biyork Valencia and it’s bringing out green vibes. This is completely different than the sample in store. I’m afraid to install it. Can anyone else give me some insight or consolation that it’ll be ok? Wall colours perhaps to offset it? I will post pics. Also how would you match your stairs since they don’t sell the varnish like Barwood Pilon for example does. Thank you!

We purchased and installed their hand scraped engineered hickory and from day 1 we've noticed small white surface scratches (looks like through the top coat). It happens while we vacuum as well. We literally put nothing down on this floor as it will definitely scratch - no boxes, all furniture has pads, etc. Oddly enough, if the dog digs in and gouges it there are no surface scratches. I can live with the gouges, it's hardwood and to be expected. But I don't appreciate having to accept that is okay just by cleaning them. The photo I'm attaching is from today. We've been in a back and forth with them for over two years, they came to replace a plank where the top came up after 6 months of install and took some extra planks for testing. Told us their testing was up to their standards. Now they're saying that scratches aren't under warranty. I'm not saying a floor isn't scratch proof, I'm saying the quality is unacceptable that the scratches are even happening.

We purchased the hydrogen 7 luxury vinyl this year and we're quite disappointed with the quality . We had alot of pieces that were damaged, things caught underneath the coating, 3 pieces that I am guessing quality control circled the damaged areas in black sharpie and then placed in the box for delivery and some had dents or scratches. In total 2 boxes had to be replaced delaying our renovation for over 2 weeks. For the price we paid we were not impressed. Scared to see how it will hold up. We will not purchase from them again. A piece maybe but 2 boxes is ridiculous. At least we did not have to fight them on it.

Just having some put in right now. Our contractor wanted us to go to his favourite place to get flooring, but we didn't like the lack of variety in colours; everything was grey or brown, and we wanted something light like birch. We went to a store highly rated on Google instead, and they had some birch like options, including Biyork Lily Canvas: a beautiful floor, a little more expensive than some of the other stuff, but we just had to get the colour. The complaints of too many short pieces did not seem to apply. Seems like they have corrected that issue since people posted that. The contractor did say that Biyork flooring was really good quality and he and his right-hand guy really loved the way the matching nose-pieces looked on the stairs. The only complaint was that the nose pieces did not click/lock to the floor. They fit nice and flush, but there is no locking at all. The underpad is good, and since we're installing it on a concrete floor in the basement, we had been concerned at first that there would not be enough padding, but it actually feels great underfoot.

We installed Biyork Hydrogen 6 vinyl core in our kitchen. There are, so far, two divots that have popped up from two tiles. It is apparent because it is white tile. And there is a scuff from where we installed the fridge, even though we used flooring protectors under the fridge. I was very disappointed when I contacted them to ask about warranty. The rep was condescending and rude, told me not even to wear slippers in the kitchen, and this was after he told me not to wear stiletto heels on the flooring. Imagine. He actually asked me to send pictures of the shoes I wear in the house so he could determine whether they were problematic for the flooring. Needless to say, the company warranty is worthless because I obviously can’t provide 24x7 video that I haven’t been dragging heavy machinery across this tile. Terrible customer experience, terrible product, do NOT recommend.

I posted fine months ago about the non-stop issues we've had and, despite what the online to is saying in here, they accept zero responsibility. I vacuumed tonight and another plank's to layer came up. How does this happen??? I will NEVER use any BiYork product again. This is the single greatest design regret I've ever made. It's the year's old. How will it look in two or seven more years? I love in a hundred years old house and all the original wood floors were in awesome condition. This crap can't last beyond six months.

I wish I had read this thread sooner! Especially Lo Fi’s comment. We just had Biyork engineered hardwood placed throughout the house. Within weeks, there were deep scratches, and like Lo Fi, Biyork’s response has been basically ”sorry. too bad. it’s your problem.” Worthless warranty! AVOID this company!

Another update - several months ago their claims specialist Michael Fleming and one of their salesmen David Duke actually came to my home after repeated back and forth about our floors. We actually have an indoor camera for our security and dog and have them on camera stating that they will either replace the entire flooring or pay us out for its value. Then they asked to look at our vacuum. They assured us again that they would make this right, all they had to do was get the approval of higher ups. Left my home and an hour or two later sent an email with nobody just an attachment with his claim report which basically stated that our vacuum was the cause of the scratches. It's not even the vacuum that we have been using all the time and the only one that may cause scscratches. We have other vacuums that have also caused scratches. It also doesn't explain the lifting of the top of the floors as well as the cracks that are happening in some panels. I will repeat, I have them on video saying they will make this right. They lied to our faces, in our home, and it was all a ruse to just get whatever they could use to substantiate the claim that they wanted to be able to refute the warranty. David Duke looked uncomfortable the entire time he was in our home. Fleming was the snake oil salesman. Said whatever he had to to get his job done. In hindsight, now I know why Duke was not comfortable. Why bother having a warranty? They've basically said that we should seek out third party testing which we are actually going to do. If anyone else wants to get in on this with their flooring let's do it and let's put an end to this once and forever.

  • Lo Fi

Also, if you try and make any comments on their social media, they block you and delete youyour comments. Such a stand-up company right?

  • Lo Fi
    last year

@L GG I'm sorry that you experienced the same terrible quality for and even more terrible customer service. I definitely think if several of us got the flooring third party tested - like they suggest, then we could get compensation. Also, contacting the BBB for their unsure business practices. They Bank on the fact that they tell people this isn't covered under warranty and then people will just shut up and go away. Sorry, not with this guy!

wow so sorry for what everyone has had to deal with, I have decided not to go with the flooring from them that I really wanted to use based on this thread, now looking at Moduleo or Pure Max SPC or Cascades Northstar EVP… almost considering giving up and just going back to engineered wood instead!

@uptoolate there's a great Facebook page called "Luxury Vinyl Flooring Advise" and has 19K members. It's very helpful and there are lots of pros there too! Happy to hear you didn't go with the Biyork product (smart move)!

I left a review and opened an official complaint yesterday with the BBB. I am also looking into hiring an independent (certified) flooring inspector and will take them to court over this. I hope others chime in too, companies that knowingly sell inferior products should be held accountable. Hiding behind a so-called warranty that they won't honour speaks volumes.

  • amb4011

That facebook group sounds great @Kathie Duncan I hadn't heard of it. Thanks! I had brought up some of the online concerns to the vendor I was buying from and he's said he only had a problem once with an engineered wood product of theirs I think but he said they handled it without issue. Maybe it depends which reps are coming to look at it? Still not going there at all though.

ALL FLOORING STORES THAT WE DEALT WITH STOPPED CARRYING THEIR PRODUCT BECAUSE OF ISSUES AND NOW WE KNOW WHY. PRODUCT MADE IN CHINA AND ITS GARBAGE!! PLS SAVE YOUR MONEY.

  • frank P

Which model and colour flooring did you get so we know ?

  • Lo Fi
    last month

Roxanne I'm sorry you're in the same boat. They are no longer responding to emails and have basically used the report their former claims person put on about our vacuum and standing behind that for any issues. We've moved Beyond The White surface scratches, we actually have cracks that are starting to appear, in addition to the delaminating planks, and now we're seeing some of the peeling or stain dropouts like Kathy has. If they seriously want to stand behind a vacuum causing all of this damage to engineered hardwood, what does it say about their product? Funnily enough, they included a paragraph in their warranty with regards to vacuums after our issues cropped up. Unfortunately for them, it's not the warranty that was in place when we purchased the product. Their customer service is absolutely non-existent. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on and they're flooring is absolutely abhorrent.

Please visit “Boycott Biyork” on Facebook to see others facing the same issues. Possible class action lawsuit as the number of frustrated customers continues to climb. Please make sure you post a BBB complaint and Amazon complaint as well (if you have issues). Sadly this company is refusing to warranty their product. We also hired an independent 3rd party NWFA inspector that PROVED manufacturer defect of the product.
