nice site with covers, oddly the daisy selection had no daisy in it, it was one with no flowers and one with petunia and pansies. Dont forget 4'oclocks one of the oldest varieties and is making a fair comback in many gardens. i Like geraniums big balls of color and petunias & pansies are always good for constant flashes of mixed colored blooms. Gerbera daisy is always good for near the back of the garden as their blooms come well up over its foliage and offers hight, then behind them snaps, gladiolas and lilies. Crinum and canas and amarylus if you need some with bulk and extravagant sized blooms. Granted not all my selections are annuals some are annuals in the north, yet parennial in south. some are true annuals or perennials. I don't have any of my gardens with just one or the other. One note: pansies don't seem to seed well, their little cusins the jump ups do. I had over 100 pansies last year and not one this year, but i had a dozen johnny jump ups last year and now i have hundreds this year.

Currently 23 inches high. It was 3 tiny stems 3 months ago. They do exceptionally well with grow lights. Experimenting with different LED spectrums I found that red and white promote fast growth, thick stems and branching between leaf stems. Purple lighting promotes compact growth and large deep green leaves.

Hi April 15, Chances are you treated them too well. They like in a natural environment with a semi moist surface and not too much humidity. I mix my dry seed with coarse, dry sand and shake out through a coarse holed ex-food spice container onto just moist seed raising mix in a tray, cover the tray with glass and put it in the shade - I do not cover the seed ie plant to any depth. No more water is needed and in a week or 2 (seasonal), they are starting to germinate. Remove cover bit by bit and monitor moistness. Move into more dappled light as they grow. If dry, water lightly. As plant increases in size, increase water and fertilizer. Pot on before too big. Good luck. Regards, Brain Kerr. Hi Used to do that every winter. Spectacular but declined when warm weather returned There is a hybrid called "Sunpatients" that is far more heat tolerant. Everybody raves about them but I have not tried them Went with lobelia, verbena this year My sole waterlily eats up every square inch so limited to winter for "floating gardens" Putting in some Asian lotus right now so that will probably be the end of the floaters gary
