Need help with port porch column placement/ stair handrails

Please help me with this dilemma. Our new build has a front porch which, due to adding a basement, is higher than on the plans. Our builder measured and we do not require a railing ( porch height is 25 in).

However, I feel strongly that we need a hand railing on the stairs as we have both elderly and very young family members/ friends who will be visiting often.

My problem is that the front porch columns are not positioned where they could serve as a point of attachment for the hand rails. I can't really move them there either because we will have lights in either side of the front door ( which will have sidelights and a transom)

How can we make the handrails not look goofy? (Obviously the front door shown is a temporary)

Thanks

so much !
