What one seed/plant are you looking forward to most?
Comments (32)I have avoided this post because this is SO HARD to answer. I feel like if I mention one, the others seeds will say, "Well, fine! We won't germinate for you!" So my lips are sealed. Truly, it's after they really grown in the yard (and second or third year on perennials) that I get an idea of whether i truly look forward to them or not. I've noticed that when I rely and wait eagerly on one plant, it always seems to be another plant that I sorely underrated that performs (and dresses up the garden) beyond my wildest dreams (and beyond the one I was waiting so eagerly for). Comments (18)My husband thinks depending on rental income is unpredictable and that we should work longer...sigh... Anyway, still awaiting State consent from Malaysia pending a bumi release letter from the seller. In Malaysia, there are bumi houses which are cheaper and sold mostly to Malays only. If they cannot sell it to any Malay, then they will release it to Chinese buyers prob at a higher price....anyway, quite a tedious process buying a resale house...been waiting for state consent for months... Just found out can bring my Sg employed Filipino maid into Malaysia without applying for MM2H so that will save us some money... Was discussing with hubby last night our many options from retiring as soon as next year to many years later. If we retire next year, will only have about S$2300 to S$2800 passive income but as the exchange rate is 2.62 now, it translates to RM$6000 to RM$7300 which is higher than the average malaysian household income of RM$5000 so maybe we can still survive in Johor. Main thing is my hubby wants my children to continue schooling in Sg so that means we may have to keep our expensive Sg car. Hope to convince him to let them study in Johor international schools but the school fees are like S$700 compared to subsidised rate of about S$400 in Sg. And when my younger one attends primary school, it is only S$11.50 in Sg. Now his childcare fees are high... Actually, when I first decided to buy JB malaysia house, intention was to rent out for passive income and sell it 10 years later for capital gains to fund my childrens' university. But many pple ssid rental and resale was difficult so we thought of retiring there...but there are many stories of house breakins and robberies too so that also makes me a bit fearful of living there...sigh.... However, many Singaporeans and expats have moved there esp Nusajaya over the last few years to take advantage of the lower cost of living and that has driven property prices up sharply......See MoreWhat are you most looking forward to this spring?
Comments (35)ha ha ha ! Cindy .. mulch? did you say mulch ? what is that ? I wish I had mulch . I don't have any mulch other than some leaves we rake up in the fall, which with all the trees dying ,is getting less and less available to us. I may have to resort to a leaf round up from neighbors bags heading to the dump .....the leaves do help to keep the weeds down and I use them cuz I cant afford mulch for all the gardens......so I spend my whole season WEEDING ! Good thing I like to weed cuz otherwise Ack! As for edging LOL when I am not weeding I am edging the gardens with a shovel. One year we did round up a bunch of sawdust from where my husband works and put it all along the edges and it looks nice and neat for a while but then the weeds grow up through it and I have to resort to the shovel anyway. I will have my work cut out for me this season as last year I spent all my time cleaning up all the branches and bark etc that was left behind when the trees came down ( clean up from about 40 odd trees that are 80 to 90 feet tall is no small job let me tell you ). It meant that there wasn't much time left to weed .....so I will be playing catch up this year. Signet...See MoreWhat are you looking forward to this winter?
Comments (56)Altho not fond of winter here, I plan on doing all those little projects that never appear to be completed. We are planning on close to some heavy snow storms, accumulating close to 6 plus feet, through out the winter. I am hoping to find a fix for this crippling Rheumatoid, and to be able to tackle my snow shoes once again and have some shoeing time on a bright sunny day. The basement, especially "his" side needs a really good sorting out. My antique kitchen tool collection needs a good cleaning and sorting....might part with some of them, might just move them all around. Clothing in closets, rubbermaids and drawers, needs to be sorted, repaired, given away, whatever. My crafting project box needs a really good sorting out...what WILL be done, what will never be done, that sort of stuff. And, if I accomplish and or all of that, then I'll watch a new program or read something interesting!...See Moreoursteelers 8B PNW
