Comments (20)susied3: The top spice cabinet is 3 1/2 inches x 12 inches and then the door is over that to make it 4 3/8 inch. The bottom pull out is 6 1/4 inches wide. These are custom so DH could do what was needed to be done to utilize the space. He measured the small spice containers to make sure he could fit them into an otherwise useless space. We were just going to have the trim until he figured it out to have it open from the side. Thank you for all the kind comments! Re: ceiling lighting, we still need to see whats under the box lights to see what type of hole is there. But I was kind of thinking a round flush mount or a very low drop mount in a circle shape, maybe 20 inches or bigger. But since there's nickel tone can lights, and hardware, and faucet, I don't know if I need to stay with nickel. Not sure how track lighting would look. Have to investigate that. I do like the idea of black but then I wonder if I need to get the can lights changed to white. I really wanted pendants but the can lights are 7 inch and I could get a kit but not many options that I've seen. Any help?...See MoreWindow coverings and lighting
Comments (30)I live 10 hours from the border so we don't make trips to the USA. The last time I was there was in 1989. I have a US address that I can ship to, but shipping from it is expensive and I still have to pay the duty/taxes once the item arrives so it's likely to be not much different. And then if they don't work out, it's very expensive for me to ship them back. That being said, I don't really like any of Overstock's offerings anyway. I want a nice white fabric, and they seem to have faux silk which I'm not a fan of the look and heavy white velvet which I don't think goes with their rooms. Even if I had someone that could bring them to me, which I don't, 4 of those faux silk white panels to do one room is still $457.96 once converted to Canadian dollars. And there may be duty and taxes charged to whoever brought them back. And I'd still have to stitch them together and hem them. $600 doesn't sound like a ton more for a fabric I would actually like and the proper size with no work to be done on them. Edit: and I see the velvet panels don't come in white, it's ivory or off white, so the colour may not be right anyway. The walls are a creamy off white so something creamy could clash. Also, I probably seem like I don't like the ideas being presented to me, but I have been looking for curtains for 3.5 years. I have Googled until my eyes bled and priced out options from stores all over the USA and Canada. The USA options end up being the same cost or more, and I have to alter them once they arrive. The Canadian custom options are minimum $600, up to around $2000. So I seems to be left with paying custom prices and getting them sized how I want, IKEA panels and either stitching together or doing stationary, the Canadian company I linked to above and either stitching together or doing stationary, or seeing if I can find 96" panels that I like and altering and adding onto the bottom. Unfortunately I don't like any of those options. Ha ha. I suppose 84" panels and adding to the bottom would be an option too. The though of having to find coordinating fabric in my city bring thoughts of dread along with having to buy a sewing machine. We have very little for fabric stores. I'd really be limited to Fabricland for a store that has hours when I could get there. Once I add in a sewing machine, and buying a large table to be able to set up, and fabric costs, I might be the custom price category anyway....See MoreRug for Small narrow hallway
