Paint Design Dilemma Kitchens

Cabinet Colour for Caesarstone London Grey

We are opening up walls to make an open-concept kitchen/living/dining room. Our main source of natural light is east-facing windows with one small south-facing window. We are installing Caesarstone London Grey quartz counters on our new island and perimeter counters. I am trying to decide on a white paint for the cabinets. Island will be painted in BM Sparrow and walls will be either BM Silver Satin or BM Seapearl.

- BM White Dove which matches the counter nicely and has a warm undertone but am concerned it will blend too much

- BM Simply White which also looks good with the counter but there is a more pronounced contrast between it and the counter

Not looking for the kitchen to be too stark but I feel like both whites will work. Am waiting to live with the kitchen for a while before I install backsplash. Floors will be hardwood. Appliances will be stainless.

Thoughts on a cabinet paint that will brighten up the room?

Sparrow is a warm color, so I would do a warm white like Swiss Coffee. Watch out with clash tones on walls. Silver satin sounds cool. Paint walls last!

If you want a whiter white, Steam is a good choice, or even whiter is Oxford white. Sorry never been a fan of white dove, but it would work as well.

HI! I just stumbled across this post and I was set on using the cambria torquay in my kitchen too. But last week when I started looking around again I found out that ceasarstone came out with some great new colors. London Gray, frosty carrina. I have seen the frosty carrina in person and it looks nice. I am waiting to see the london gray. Have you gotten pricing ideas? I know that the cambria pricing was a bit on the high end. Can't wait to hear what you end up with!

Dianne, I have quartz (not Caesarstone, they were out of my choice at the time) in my bathroom; looks new 2 years later. Online, you will find many cons or negatives about most any product you are considering buying. I wouldn't let that hinder you, as that's usually the minority. Caesarstone has a warranty. I will be buying either London Grey or Organic White in the next two weeks for my kitchen reno, but I love real marble. This is a happy compromise. Check with the company you are buying and ask if they've had any issues with Caesarstone. I asked the appliance company about Thermador vs. Viking and they gave me their opinion based on what they service the least. Good luck!

I think there's enough contrast between those grays in the 1st pic, but really depends on the look you are going for and what your backsplash, paint, and hardware will look like. Any ideas about those? I actually really love the Frosty Carrina. I did not consider it until late in the game because I thought it was a little bland based on the sample, but when I saw the full slab, I changed my mind.

Go to Saltillo Imports for tile. South of Yorkdale on Tycos Drive in the design district. So many tiles, so many ideas and lots of items on display. Many of the HGTV designers use this store for their tile. Have a look at their site - worth a visit, even if you think you've found what you want. Olympia is nearby as well - almost overwhelming choices there. The tile you've chosen above...I don't know...for some reason I think bathroom when I see it but maybe I need to see it done and grouted. As is so often the case, it all comes together in the end, but we spend a great deal of time second guessing our choices when in the midst of the project.

If your counters lean grey like white dove, then just paint them that color. You could also cut the color by 25% or more to go lighter. Doing simply white or any that lean yellow, will clash if your counters lean cool.
