Has anyone installed Caesarstone London Grey or Frosty Carrina?
Comments (27)lynn2006: Thanks and I am happy to share, just as others have shared before me. erinf8: Attached is a grouted picture; sorry this was at night with the undercounter lighting on; you see we are getting some reflection from the LEDs. It is not bad from far away, however, just at certain angles up close. The grout is Platinum. We went with this choice to make the veining the star, rather than the grout lines. The UC ighting is also a slightly cooler temp (3K) to emphasize the contrast. The tile was actually my second choice, my first choice was online at the Builders Stone Depot, but that did not work out. After some searching at dealers by my GC and I, I found these, in stock, at a regular warehouse called Liberty Builders in South SF. SparkingWater: Thanks. I did not get to view the slabs before hand. I jumped in with both feet first! I never made it to the Caesarstone local warehouse. Someone asked about the edge earlier: it is mitered and slightly eased, by about 1/8", I think, per the Caesarstone Warranty specifications....See MoreHelp please with color choices for white cabinets and quartz counters.
Comments (49)Your kitchen is beautiful! I love the mix of white and wood cabinets with the Hanstone quartz. Thank you so much for the photos! I used this quartz in my bathrooms and this is similar to what I’m planning to do with my kitchen next. I see you continued the quartz in the backsplash behind the stove. What did you use for the backsplash behind the sink and desk? Also, what have you found to work best for maintaining the quartz? I’m a little afraid of mine given the warnings they gave me about heat damaging it. I’ve also noticed that I need to wipe off water spots. Thank you!...See MoreAre Ikea cabinets really cheaper than Lowes/Home Depot?
Comments (35)Thanks all - the $4500 quote from our Contractor is including cabinets plus assembly labor for doing Ikea (I asked about this directly). This is part of a huge project that involves essentially building an addition, knocking out walls, moving plumbing and electricity, and more, etc. etc. I'm not sure how the $4500 breaks down to cabinets alone vs. labor, but I don't think he is charging much for the labor portion considering all the labor they are already doing on our house on this 5+ month project. I also think at this point reading through multiple threads that it's true we might easily spend more than that $4500 going to a Lowe's or Home Depot even if cabinets come preassembled. I got hopeful for a moment while in Lowes, but I'm now skeptical. We WILL likely cost out some options when the time comes, just to be sure in the end. It's just not at all worth the headache to us to try to DIY the assembly at that time for a number of personal reasons I won't go into....See Morecaesarstone color samples for “marble” looks
Comments (4)HI, this is helpful thanks. I just went this past week to the Caesarstone showroom and came home with a handful of sample pieces. But I also went to Silestone and found some there I liked even better. I liked Caesarstone for many colour choices that don't have huge swoopy veining in them. I'm a fan of more subtle veining and colouring. I admire those big patterny veins, and I think they look great if you have a slab on a large island, but when it is on perimeter cabinets the veining so often trails off a side or just makes it hard to match at seams. A less pronounced pattern seems easier to work with and live with in my opinion. I am planning a dark blue kitchen island with white shaker perimeter. So far, our top choice is Silestone Eternal Serena. It is light grey in colour with subtle white veining. It is lovely and something you may want to consider with your Charcoal blue choice. I think it looks great with the dark blue colours and will work well with white too....See MoreRelated Professionals
