You are in a pickle here I think. If the wooden window is getting wet or has gotten wet in the past the job of waterproofing it will be very hard. Properly waterproofing a window is tricky and requires a little care and some speciality waterproofing products. Cutting the window's jamb level with the existing backer board is not a hard thing to do and a good first step. I might suggest you install some kerdi band to the wooden sides of the window with Kerdi Fix as an adhesive. Before any waterproofing steps are taken the old window should be sanded and check for damage. A product called "Wood Petrifier" could be used to repair soft spots on your window. An oil based priner and good quality marine paint for the window. Ideally you can tile the inside portions of the window jamb and have a sloped window sill. As Stacey mentions pictures go a long way to providing options. What was used as a backer board in the shower? Was any waterproofing measure used in the wet zone? olychick, thank you for taking a look. :) I'm relieved to hear you think a white shower pan is best. I am heading out now to find porcelain marble look tiles for the shower walls to pick up the gray as you suggested. I want a shiny finish to the walls. Tell me if you think that's a misstep. I am avoiding marble as I have a marble topped vanity now that is pock marked with etchings. As far as seeing myself in the vanity, yes, I think I will be able to do so. I was planning on a black framed mirror spanning the vanity. My current vanity is 32 1/4" high (as will be the new vanity) and when seated on my vanity stool my reflection is seen up to my chest. The only issue currently is that my knees are pressed against drawers. I failed to mention that I was thinking of using absolute black granite for the vanity top for two reasons: one being cost and the other being to avoid etching. Will doing so deviate too much from my inspiration? I agree with Cpartist"s layout and like moving the closet over as suggested by D M so that bedroom 3 has easier access to the bathroom. Do you have room to have the toilet face the tub and add a linen cabinet next to the toilet? How wide is the tub toilet area?

I found some pics on Houzz that might inspire you? If you have three bathrooms they can all have a different 'feel' but be tied by a similar color. It can be the same color in each bathroom but going pale pastel in one to bold in another depending on your desire.....to choose a color I would select from colors already existing in your home and really a color close to eacj bathroom. The pics represent colors and degrees of intensity and metal options. Looking only at the graphics and then you choose the colors and finishes to complete the room. I am talking too much. Have fun with the pics for inspiration. 1. Bold in paint and wall paper but again endless possibilities for the bath. Lots of energy. 2. This bath is the exact opposite of above but painting a white that works as one of the colors in your tile only changing the fixtures makes a statement and you could only change the vanity fixtures and put in plate glass to open the room. Tres chic. This could highlight your beautiful tile/stone work in the room. Monochromatic 3. Accent wall says it all. Only on color accent against a neutral paint 4. And of course basic Black which is the highest contrast with white, and therefore the most drama....love the simple painted mirrors which saves money for new lights and the chrome fixtures are already in place; another way to save. Deep dark bold.
