Asplenium hybrid 'Austral Gem' help?

Ok, so this is an unexpected relative of the Bird's Nest fern, it has the front texture of the birds nest group, but the dissected fronds of many other groups of ferns.

It tolerates getting dry and even wilting but recovers. Truly a trooper, but mine has slowly declined (and letting it wilt may be the problem here)...but it doesn't seem to want overly wet soil, so I do let it dry out.

Mine was repotted (though mostly potted up vs soil change) last year in a lite peat/perlite mix, but just hasn't grown as well as I like. It's currently in a north facing window and gets watered to the point of saturation when very dry. I have infrequently watered with a dilute fertilizer. I tried it in a south facing but shaded window and that worked out less well than the north facing did.

I'm pondering splitting it and repotting with severe soil replacement in spring and hoping that invigorates it.

Does anyone have suggestions for ideal growth on these?
