Annie, I'm happy with the response to the alphabet theme. It came to me recently when waking up. :) I love seeing everyone's interpretation of the letters. We have a lot of very creative people here.

Marilyn, I am loving seeing your beautiful barn and how beautiful and healthy your horses are now under your care. I know you love it too.

Eighteen already! Here is my oldest grandchild as he opened his time capsule. Guests at his baby shower brought items, cards, letters that his aunt put in a time capsule to be opened on his 18th birthday. I kept it in a closet at my house and he had no idea.

Eld, the contents of the time capsule provoked lots of joy and fun. My grandson was awed by the expression of love and thoughtfulness that each item signified. 9-11 had occurred just weeks before so many of the items reflected the patriotism and cohesiveness of the nation at that time. There were newspaper clippings, magazines like Time and Newsweek as well as the US flag, people magazine with Alicia Keys- artist of the year on the cover and toy advertisements. Some guests took the time to create collages of family photos. Some selections became iconic symbols of the time, Harry Potter made an appearance in a copy of the first book, his cousins favorite at the time, Star Wars Pez dispenser of Boba Fett, Clippings about Carl Ripkin, a floppy disc and hard disc. Also included was a $2 bill. All the items were accompanied by hand written notes. His grandparents and his parents wrote letters. I included the congratulatory letters, mostly emails, I received after his birth.
