Letter of the day is "C"....

Here's a cowl with cables I made...needed to satisfy my craving for berry colors, and this yarn helped.

For those of you who knit, I was practicing cabling without a cable hook. Worked pretty well.

Annie, that's nice to know you knit too. I am about to try one more time... for a sweater I bought the pattern for in 2014. It has a complicated start, from the neck down.

Here is a cowl I made a long time ago:

OklaMoni, some find the neck down sweaters easier than the bottoms up...the advantage is you get to try it on as your work on it so your sleeves won't be too long and such.

Annie if you saw the directions for this one... "Fickle Heart" I just have a hard time starting it... have you knitted with provisional cast on?

  • Annie Deighnaugh
    Original Author

Yes I have. It's simply a way of casting on so that in the future, the cast on stitches can be picked up and worked at a later time.

Here's a video that shows a simple way of doing it:

Pretty sweater. But that pattern looks like it needs a lot of concentration to work.

Car no longer needs emission test every other year to get registration renewed.

Cost up about 62%, though (after having stayed the same for a number of years).

Current increase partly offset by emission test every second year, now gone, which cost 2/3 - 3/4 of the new fee increase (apart from repairs that might have been required).

I don't get it. Uptown Girl's pic and Sisters in faith pic are identical?

<Uptown Girl's pic and Sisters in faith pic are identical?>

Maybe they are the same person. However, the pictures cannot be both Arlington and Indiana - they have to be one or the other😵.

The version from Sisters in faith has higher resolution.

Those are my photos from Marion IN. My husband is a disabled veteran, and uses the VA quite often. The national cemetery share the same grounds as the medical center. Uptown Gal either is lying or mistaken, about that being her photo.

The rules for these threads here are very simple...not sure why some people seem to have trouble abiding by them.

These threads are to share pictures *we've* taken, not for pulling pics or memes off the internet. If you share a picture you haven't taken, then say so and credit the photographer.

    Please.

I am not lying...but, evidently I was mistaken. I had pulled (must have been

yours) to check that it wasn't mine and should have deleted it, I guess. Unless

of course, you are lying or mistaken) . I worked

in and near Arlington for years...however, not as special as using the VA

Hospital, I guess. And, the picture wasn't actually one I took...it was taken

by a friend when we worked near there..but I was standing beside him. (So, if he posts sometime that he took it, please don't call him a liar). We were attending

a funeral that day. Sorry...if I took your personal picture that only you could take. The thousands of people who take pictures at the cemetery are going to be amazed. Thank you.

  • Uptown Gal

I am sorry to confuse you. But, as I stated...I thought it was the one that a friend took while we were at Arlington attending a funeral. I had seen

Sister's picture and thought it was mine. I had posted my picture here

several months or longer ago, and the picture was much older. Sorry to confuse

you, but hope this clears things. My post was a bit long, as I do not take

kindly to someone calling me a liar as "Sister" did. Her picture was taken

from a different location. And...to end this.....I do not take pictures from

the internet (do not use Facebook either) except for family, friends pictures

that they send to me. So, hopefully this satisfies everyone. I have apologized

to "Sister"...going down on one knee and bowing. Thank you for

    your interest. ;)
