Lions Floor Luxury Vinyl Plank?
Comments (52)@HU-796072056 Hello! I chose the bambino because of the color I was looking for, the budget, the low foot traffic in my house. I have no kids or pets in the house. I was aware of it being 5.5mm. For more peotection, I recommend 7.7mm+. I’ve had my first incident where I dropped a knive on the kitchen, by accident, and it hit the floor with the sharp point and it made a small cut. I realized it’s very thin. I’ve placed area rugs where I spend more time doing things and could drop object by accident :). I’m clumpsy! Also, all my furniture have protection to avoid damage when moving them. Like anything, it‘s just taking care of it. I do have to say, if I do it again, i would demolish the old floors in the whole house and then be able to place the planks on the floor before installing since some of the knots are too close together. the installees where going room by room and i was able to be here. it would have been more days of installation and at that point I let it go. The installers tried, but it was hard since the plank design repeat every 10 planks and have an open floor plan. if you get a chance, tell your installers (if not you) to place them on the floor ahead of installation that way you can avoid that. keep that in mind in case you need extra days. My installers were not designers. Now I know:)....See MoreHELP: best quality/most authentic Luxury Vinyl Plank brand/style - GO!
Comments (10)We have solid maple on our main floor. We have friends with brand new solid walnut - gorgeous! But we just installed Supercore from weshipfloors.com in our lower level. Looks great! Had it for over 6 months - easy to clean (no haze) & not a scratch or a nick anywhere. If I was building a new home, I would use it in all the living areas! Supercore has the 30 mil wear layer - nothing at Home Depot, Costco, or any retailer we checked even came close....See MoreDo luxury vinyl plank floors lower the value of high end homes in FL
Comments (16)Unless you are flipping a property... get what you want. In my experience, the LVP debate becomes a bit less important in upper price ranges. When paying 3+ million for a home you have the money to get a new floor. So, as long as the existing floor is attractive buyers are not going to care as much. We sold a property on Longboat Key not long ago and I would not have wanted engineered wood flooring (it was beachfront and had a regular helping of wet without flooding). We actually had terrazzo floors but if I still owned and used the property I would cover them with LVP... I know that is a sin, but I like going barefoot in my house and no one likes hopping out of bed onto cold floors....See MoreNeed help picking out Luxury Vinyl Plank
Comments (76)I live near a Daltile showroom and picked up this black slate look tile (click these words) for our kitchen family room renovation. This "Daltile Delegate Black" is porcelain and has some "slate-like" dimension on the surface. I also have samples of Daltile's real Brazilian black slate tile so I can make a comparision. Brazil Black Slate These tiles do not come in 12 by 24." Although they look black in the picture, they are a soft charcoal gray in real life. Only available in a square shape. Perhaps a sealer would make it look blacker? If so, we don't want a floor that requires that level of maintenance. As such, we will probably go with "Delegate Black." I just took this picture. Here is a single 12” by 24” Delegate tile on the bottom, two Brazil Black slate tiles above and a square sample of a black painted wood for reference. The Brazil Black tiles are slightly darker than pictured below. The Brazil Black (the real slate) also leans slightly blue (at least these two tiles do). The Delegate Black doesn't appear to lean blue or green. What appears to be "veins" in the tile are actually changes in the surface of the slate/porcelain. I've been to other tile showrooms and the Daltile "Delegate Black" is the best fake slate I've seen. @Gin J Choosing flooring is just a tough process for those of us who cannot have single type of hardwood throughout the home. Our kitchen is next to an engineered hardwood floor that we cannot match since it's a distinct style that was made 10 or so years ago. Porcelain tile is our best bet. Black plays nicely with the amber/ distressed/ red tones of the engineered wood floor it will abut....See Morecynthia strong
