What IS a Circus rose?
Comments (4)Couple of the "washed out" photos was posted from Lisbon - in hot climate a rose could be washed out while in Colorado it could retain the colors the breeder intended it to have. Too have options in case you want to purchase this rose. Roses Unlimited sells usually good-sized 1-gallon plants and I think Rouge Valley also sells it in 1 gallons. Or, you can get it from Vintage or Heaven scent roses and in this case you will get band(s) that are substantially smaller than the gallon sized ones. If you garden in zone 5, probably the best thing to do is to reserve it and ask for spring delivery - except if you have a greenhouse to over winter it and make it grow to a larger bush to plant next spring. The Kordes 'circus' series are brand new this year, so your mother could not have those....See MoreIt's Circus Day.
Comments (8)OA...I simply love this table, and all the fun stuff!! As I was looking at it...I'm wondering just who had more fun with it...You...or the kids ?? I'm sure they were thrilled with all you did... I love all the clever ideas you came up with... The tickets, the little booklets on the backs of the chairs..and all the circus people - Including The 'Clown' Yes...you definitely needed the clown...Love - Love - LOve it. I can relate to one of your Gkids not liking Hot Dogs...I've got one too...so you came up with another great idea w/the chicken on a stick. Also, your plates and the food on them look so colorful. Those Christmas Candles worked perfectly into the theme too. Just every detail is so fun. I really enjoyed this. Thanks jane...See MoreCircus Day Table
Comments (5)Jeanne, I looked for a clown, but the only ones I saw at the TS just weren't cute! DH and I already ate the popcorn, but the other treats are waiting for DGK's. Nana, I'll post a picture of the picnic basket once I disassemble this table. I couldn't believe that I found a doll to use as a Ringmaster! I was looking for a clown, but didn't find one of those. I bought the elephant cup a couple of years ago when Cody was really into elephants. It is a souvenir from the circus. Jane, I looked for those marshmallow circus peanuts, but didn't find them and also it was late when I was at the store and I couldn't find any regular peanuts either, and I was too tired to hunt for them, so just went without. I had plans to make ticket place cards, but didn't get that done either!! So, I just went with what I had, because I'll be changing it in a few days anyway, LOL. Thanks ladies!! I can always count on you for some uplifting words and encouragement. I don't know what I'd do without you, you're such a great support group. Comments (3)When you say the entire front entry way -- do you mean the entire vertical column to the roof -- or just the lower portion with the arch up to the horizontal break line? Either way -- I would go lighter (just the opposite of your idea - sorry). Just like the windows are trimmed in white drawing you to notice them -- I would lighten the entrance area. Alternatively, consider an Exterior Glaze tinted with a slightly Darker Grey (or any color for that matter). This can be applied evenly ... or applied evenly and then brushed over with a clean push-broom (no kidding). The Darker Grey (or accent color) will settle in your stucco pattern but the under Grey color will still show thru making your entrance a subtle difference from everything else but tied together. Long and involved idea (sorry) but I've done this stucco application many, many times with fabulous results (for large interior areas). The technique is exactly the same for Exteriors and you can research it for more details. Good luck....See Moreamberly2100
