My 2022 ended on a good note! A bearing in our 20 year old furnace went and rather than fix it we opted for a new furnace. It warmed up here to between -15 C and -20 C so it wasn’t too bad having the furnace shut off for two days. Thank goodness it wasn’t during the -40 spell. The basement infloor heating and our fireplace kept things okay. One of the guys who came to install the furnace looked just like Dave Grohl (I didn’t get a picture) and I did feel bad that he had to go through over a foot of snow on the roof to do some venting☹️ Good thing he could access it on the lowest part of the house, though. And the skies have been a magnificent blue.

We have A LOT of windows in this house! Our kitchen faces towards the mountains. I keep pots of red geraniums and basil on my window sills in here. I took a few off so that you could better see the view. That pointed thing in the foreground of the second pic is a fountain with a winter cover on it. I’m still getting used to it, as half the time when I glance towards it, my first thought is that it‘s some person skulking around out there (LOL)!

These kiddos make us so happy. Oldest DGD who was home from grad school with great nieces and great nephew at our house for Christmas Eve breakfast. We had lots of celebrating over the holidays with family members and enjoyed every minute.
