Yes, I have painted a few. I use the spray paint for plastic. Mine were painted 3 years ago and still look great.

Yes, I spray paint all sorts of pots, from terra cotta to plastic and resin. So long as you use the appropriate paint, and spray it on clean pots, it turns out great!

I also do this but perhaps a bit less successfully than others. Mine starts to chip and peel by the end of the season, every time:(

Thanks Lily, I painted them a brownish red then used crumpled up plastic bags to kinda 'rag on' some metallics like bronze and antique gold over the top in diferent areas. I think the same effect would be pretty with a tuquoise green and copper..like a verdigris..

With plastics they may need a little light sanding and a primer. Make sure to spray a foot away and very lightly. Build coverage to prevent drips or thick spots that might gunk up then peel later.

I haven't tried doing any concrete yet but I have done terracotta. With terracotta, I would try to start with a new pot or if you cant, make sure it is very very clean and dry. Then use a primer and paint both the inside and outside. let it dry thoroughly then do it again. Then paint as usual. I made the mistake of painting terracotta without sealing the inside, the first time and it ended up peeling badly lol.

There are concrete paints, sealers, and stains out there. I bought a used fountain once that someone had painted with Latex Paint it was peeling off and bubbling up in big layers. That was not fun to scrape down all the nooks and crannies & sand it off lol. I decided I could live with the concrete look after that lol!! My MIL decided to stain her concrete floor once..something must of went wrong because everytime she washed it from then on, it leaked red everywhere! Im kinda afraid to mess around w concrete now Lol

I've done it using a stone type paint and it lasted for years aging like natural stone!!!. I love the look of natural terra cotta so wouldn't paint that, but have done things to make them look old. I can see how not painting the inside would cause problems since one of the main advantages of clay is that it transpires

Maybe for terra cotta or any porous material you could try a concrete stain instead. That way no peeling paint if water gets into the pores. Something like this maybe?

Hmmm...that stone paint has me intrigued. I just found something on a search that showed it done on a pot and it looked great!

Sultry your pots look fantastic. One of my favorite paints is Krylon Fusion in metallic copper. I've used it and color Jade on all my ironwork pieces this past year to give them a sort of verdigris look.

I love the Krylon Paints too. The Jade is such a pretty color. I would love to see your Verdigris Iron pieces.
