Comments (8)GGG -- That's a really good idea! I have a notebook with those plastic, looseleaf sheets for organizing 3x5 or 4x6 photos. They are about the right size for storing plant tags. (Although Monrovia ones have to be cut off at the bottom a little to fit.) If I get a lousy tag with very little detail from wherever, I still put it in there (so I can remember where I bought the plant), but I try to go online and print out whatever details I find there. Then, I fold it and put it behind the tag in the plastic sheet. It's not very pretty, but for most of the plants in my yard, I have some info. I also have a section for fertilizers I've used in the past. It is hard to remember the formula I like for a particular kind of plant (and I can never remember which number of the three is which). Walter Reeves has some kind of Saturday Night Fever dance that he uses to show people how to remember the numbers, but I still can't recall it when I need to! :)...See MoreNo Good Deed Goes Unpunished......
Comments (21)Well that's the kicker sushi. We have no fault here so each insurance company pays their clients damages. Even if he doesn't report to his insurance company our insurance will and his daughters premiums will go up even if they don;t claim anything. Given the door already had scratches and we were going to get it painted anyway, Clive told him that he would only ask for any costs that were above the original quote. No additional costs then we'd just forget it. That to me is more than reasonable. We did get the new quote and the additional costs over what we had been quoted is $300. That's all we would have asked for. Anyhow, he said what he did. So now Clive will claim the full repairs through insurance and the jerks premiums for his daughter will go up. I wasn't comfortable with charging for the full repair but the insurance company said the entire door needed painting as a result of the accident so existing scratches were irrelevant. The guy really wasn't thinking!...See MoreI did my good deed for the day
Comments (5)I spoke to the teen I gave the kitten to today. He was vet checked yesterday and has worms and is underweight but no mites or fleas. He also was tested for Feline leukemia but she didn't get the results yet. Vet said he was closer to six weeks which surprised me since he was so tiny. I'm guessing he doesn't weigh half a pound...maybe 1/3. The teen , Alyssa, has him isolated in her room as the family has three other cats they adopted. I wish I could perform this miracle every day..find a lost kitten, find a good home ,but it seldom works out that way....See MoreWe will see if no good deed really goes unpunished....
Comments (8)It's really nice what you've done mom2emall, hopefully it helps BM. Sounds like you already made the decision but your post has been on my mind so I'll still put my 2 bob in :-) You're right, it's better to stay neutral with BM rather then befriending her. There's every change that that would put you in the middle of BM's drama and that's not good for the kids, simple as that. The kids need you and that is your primary concern, so it's better to keep BM at a distance. My experience with people like this is that they take advantage of you, even if they don't do it with bad intentions. It's just the only way they know. They'll lean on you, unload on you, drain you of your energy. This is how they cope with their drama. BM might show up at your place one night after a fight with BF, imagine what that would do with the kids. You just can't afford to take the risk. You're home is their stable and safe place. You've done a nice thing, I hope BM is encouraged to take some action :-)...See Morelucillle
