Front Door Jam Deadbolt Plate
Comments (1)What a hack job. Not only that - but if those screws aren't into the framing - the deadbolt is worthless. Get them to do it correctly....See MoreVintage appliances...or new that looks vintage?
Comments (18)We have had our Big Chill fridge for almost a year. It is awesome, and, yes, it is energy star rated because it is a Whirlpool model re-skinned. It was pricey, but we were able to use our state energy star rebate for 15% on it, so that's about as good of a deal as we're going to get. I could never find a blue one on CL or ebay. We ordered it from our in-state dealer to get the rebate, and it drop-shipped from Big Chill in 2-3 weeks. I agree with P, the real vintage fridges are small, expensive to refurbish because of hazardous chemicals, and most require manual defrosting. Ours is about 21-22 cu ft, so if you need a bigger fridge, this clearly won't work for you unless you have space for another fridge. Old former fridge was only 18 cu ft, so this size works for us. We don't have kids. The range is a Samsung induction. I really wanted a range with modern features, though a vintage stove would be awesome. However, we'd have to run a gas line to install one. I don't care for most vintage electric ranges. We could get the DW panel from Big Chill, but we like having the fridge as the focal point....See MoreVintage Glass Door Knobs - does all your door hardware match?
Comments (21)Hmm.. wonder if the backplates are brass. Bru - I was going to attempt to put them on myself. DH will probably get involved. Neither one of use have put a door knob on though before. My Dad's pretty skilled with stuff like this but he had back surgery last week and I'm sure isn't feeling up to working on it. The knobs should at least fit right? The ones on my door are 2" diameter and I'm pretty sure these are too....See MoreSave my vintage door, please!
Comments (6)You'll have to open up that wall where you want to install the door to see whether raising the header is possible. A lot will depend on where the loads are carried. If you can't raise the header, shorten the door at the bottom and raise the doorknob. You can fill the holes and faux paint them to match the finish, or use a LARGE decorative backplate over the area. Big backplates on locksets can cover some serious ugly....See Moreolychick
