e-reader experts: does Kindle or PDN show pictues
Comments (10)Raven, have you read any of the Outlander books? Maybe because I'm over 60, but I found while reading the first Outlander that I needed to re-read or go back to previous chapter that it wasn't as easy to do with the PDN so I started acquiring the hard copies...wherever I could buy them used and really cheap. I'm glad that I have them as I'm in the 5th book and there are so many characters that keep popping back into the books from previous ones. I know that I could always use the book mark, but you never know what you will need to refer back to....See MoreWhich one Nook, Kindle, Kindle Fire? Which one?
Comments (21)just keep in mind that android tablets let you install the kindle app and the nook app so you can have all of those on one device. It really depends on your needs and wants as to what you get. the tablet with the best sound that I have owned was the vizio it had 3 speakers so no matter which direction you held it in you had stereo and the sound was fantastic. Wish more manufacturers would be more interested in the sound quality and take a lesson and put at least 3 or 4 speakers on them. I often struggle hearing with the one small speaker especially on my phone. I love love love my new Asus transformer tf300 10" tablet with dock but it too could use some improvement in the sound and speaker department. My husband still absolutely loves his lookbook in fact he now has his and mine and I am trying to make him transition over to my Vizio tablet so he has more options and can do other things on it. He is fighting me he wants to stick with his lookbook he is not a fan of the touch screen he keeps touching things by accident then I hear swearing lol. He is not a good student is all I have to say LOL That lookbook is extremely light weight you will not likely find any tablet that is that light....See MoreWhat e-reader to buy
Comments (9)There sure are a lot to choose from these days. You might want to do a search for "kindle" or "e-readers" to see what's been posted. I got Harry a Kindle for Christmas last year. It must be easy to use because he's technically challenged, but once he learned to use it he doesn't put it down. I got him the one with both wi-fi and 3G. Now I'm not sure it was such a wonderful idea. He's read 65 books since April! That means he doesn't do much else. Amazon's website is great. They have a whole site of 99 cent books, free books, etc. They keep track of what you've read (so you don't repeat). You just click and a minute later it's on your reader. We got a nice gift card from my daughter for Christmas and then he got another one for Father's Day. That's pretty much kept him in books....See MoreKindle e-Reader Advice
Comments (8)I have an original eink kindle with wifi and free 3g and still use it but they don't make those anymore. These days I use the kindle app on my Samsung 10 inch tablet. I have unlimited mobile hotspot on my phone so can connect the tablet that way if I need to download a book while traveling. Mostly every where you go these days there is free wifi available. I ditched my kindle tablet years ago. Had the defective model with the charging port issues. Amazon replaced it 4 times but I had enough and found regular tablets far superior. I would just get a good e-ink kindle with wifi for him. If he reads a lot the oasis is very nice and you can get it in a 32GB model to hold a lot of books. I played with the 2 at best buy a few months ago and thought the voyage very nice even though it was pricey. Mary...See More- 6 years agolast modified: 6 years ago
