Look at Jo-ann's online- they have most of the colors on the crypton website plus some that aren't on the crypton website. There are a lot of soft neutrals as well. The online are currently on sale. I think some of the major designer fabric manufacturers(Kravet, Robert Allen, Duralee etc) have some exclusive prints but it takes a bit more research to find them. I read a suggestion of testing fabric softness on your face or upper arm. Our hands don't respond as much as our cheeks or arms! I am also in the process of choosing a crypton fabric. I'd LOVE a cream or off white (years and years of chocolate colored sofas) but I'm scared! We have a bird who poops every 20 minutes, an old dog and we are generally messy humans. :D I have some samples on the way and plan on doing some dirty work just to make sure a lighter sofa won't make me crazy long term! If anyone has feedback on lighter colored crypton fabric I'd love it!

Omigosh @jhouse I didn't see your comment 2 years ago and just got notice of this thread being revived and saw it. I am completely in love with my Crypton. No pills, spills and stains (tho I am careful) are easy to remove with a damp cloth and some dish soap. I wrote about what I bought in the previous comment, but I guess I didn't link to the actual fabric. I'm sure it's too late for you but maybe someone else can use the info B5605 Parchment the herringbone is very small and barely noticeable as a pattern. https://www.greenhousefabrics.com/fabrics/category/crypton_fabrics I think the pilling problem might be caused by the blend of the fibers. This is mostly rayon, which is very soft to touch and doesn't pill. I can imagine if you selected a blend with mostly poly or acrylic, pilling could be a problem. It also has a 63,000 double rub durability, which also might affect the pilling, not sure. It's also USA made and is water cleanable. I imagine if you got one that is NOT water cleanable and used water on it, that could affect it also. This fabric has no pills at all, even when I've rubbed it removing a stain. Even that doesn't affect the appearance of the fabric.

I have written this before: I had my sectional recovered in Crypton. I don't really understand what Crypton is..some kind of treatment - but they don't seem to call it that - which is used on many different kinds of fabrics. I am unsure if the kind of fabric makes a difference on clean-ability. I bought mine from Greenhouse Fabrics; it's a blend of rayon and a small portion of poly with just a splash of nylon. This Crypton is made in the USA, has 33,000 rub rating and is cleaning code W, meaning it can be cleaned with water. From what I've seen some places, other fabric combos and cleaning codes (solvent clean) might have different results, but I am not sure. Lots of it comes from China, which I didn't want. So, within the first two weeks of getting it back from the upholsterer, I caught my toe on my coffee table and spilled a full glass of red wine on my new cream colored piece. OMG. I seldom drink red wine and have NEVER spilled a glass on the sectional in the 20 previous years, lol! I quickly googled what to do; it said to use a small amount of liquid dish soap in water, wipe off the spill, wipe again with clean, clear water until the soap was out. I did that and it was like magic. The red wine disappeared with nary a trace. About 2 weeks later, I noticed a spot I had missed on the front of the couch, so I did the same treatment, never expecting it to come out after that long, but it came right out. My grandson got some chocolate on it not long after and it wiped right up. I love this fabric because it's soft as anything; nothing like that hard, stiff feeling sunbrella fabric I've had on outdoor furniture. You would never guess this was a stain resistant fabric.
