This is a Downy at my suet feeder - if I enlarge it any more all you'll see is a black/white blur. Well, now that I look at it again, it is a black/white blur!

Every day is 'Bird Day' here. Whomever wants to eat, eats.

I went to St Pete for New Years, and while there also went to the Tampa Zoo.

And lastly, at the zoo we saw a bird show with owls and hawks swooping over the audience. The trainer warned people not to stand up while that was happening.

Later in St Pete I saw a statue outside a museum the seemed to illustrate what might happen to those who stood up during the show.

Wow!

Beautiful ... and what glorious diversity there is in nature's bounty!

Considering how many species have gone extinct, increasingly in recent years, we need to make serious commitment to preserving the ones which survive ... and I'm sure that you've heard of/experienced the recent major diminution in the bird and insect populations in this part of our precious world.
