Comments (13)thank you Paula for taking us from A to Z..it's fun!..cheers up winter days for those of us living in a cold climate.. Zippity doo dah is a wonderful name..love it.. this was the first cute funny thing that I found..the other pic is NOT funny..I saw this on an Indianapolis garden group that I follow..these plants were in an outside enclosure at an Indianapolis Walmart..so stupid..it was 2°F (-16.667°C) the day before I saw this pic..what a waste..is it greedy growers or mismanaged Walmart employees that ordered and shipped tender plants in February?.....See MoreHosta Giants 2019 .....
Comments (19)I am a huge fan of the very large/giants, don't think I'll ever have enough of them! They are gloriously peaceful and always rewarding to visit, when they're happy. But sometimes I have planted them too close to one another, so that when they start to reach maturity they overlap and the wonderful forms get a little obscured. What do you all do when that happens? Dig up whole clumps and re-site them? Just leave them? (Do a better job of planning in the future? - my personal weakness - ) I'm thinking this is the year to do a lot of moving around. I planted based on expectations due to the size of the leaves in the pots when I got the plants. Mistake... Plus, some areas that were once more sunny are now more shady due to trees growing up, so they need redesign anyway, and I could move some of my lovelies over there. My goal would be to do this *without* dividing; I want that mature, or almost mature, look to return as soon as possible. Just wondering how you all handle this. How close to the eyes do you dare cut - how much do you dare trim the root system, in early spring - and still get good performance?...See MoreHosta 2 or 3 or 4 colored Margins 2019
Comments (18)I just want to say that dog meme is hilarious! It reminded me of a lolcat that I used to love that was titled "everyone has a friend like this". But I can't find it now to put it here. Boo! Anyways...very funny! Thanks for the laugh....See Morenewhostalady Z6 ON, Canada
