Traverse rod wave drapery DIY?
Comments (24)Wow!!! So helpful, all of you. Thanks for all of the links, I really appreciate this! Currently our ceiling is 8 ft, which is a huge adjustment coming from 10th ceilings. Another problem is we wil be installing crown molding in this space. And another issue is the family room has a bank of fixed French dors,4 total, that sit on the same wall as the slider, about 4 or 5 feet away. It is separated by a half wall. That room already has crown and some grommet drapes from Rest Hardware. I am not crazy about the drapes and wil most likely change them at some point. They were a quick fix when we moved in. I go back and forth on whether they should be he same as the slider and I am guessing yes. So, next question. Should I do a wall mount instead of ceiling because of the crown that is happening? That is how we did it in the family room. I think I will just go with a rod and store bought panels. Rest Hardware has some nice 100w panels I can use. The door width is 84 so I assume the 100w will be fine? Or do I need more fabric? Again, thank you and I promise to upload a photo tomorrow of the room. Just hectic around here with the kitchen Reno plus I have a 6 month old and a 2.5 yr old that keep me very busy. :)...See MoreHow to rehang curtains from a traverse rod?
Comments (1)You can use those clip rings, too. They are everywhere! I just got some pinch pleat drapes and have been having a hard time finding rings that either don't have the clips or have removable clips so you cna put the drapery hooks in the eyelet. I finally decided on the allen+roth wood mahognay set I saw at Lowes. One decision of 1,000 out of the way - LOL!...See MoreWhat length for a traverse rod? 38-in window.
Comments (5)Hi Linda...I wish I could do that. I'm having to install the rods. There's nothing on the window right now for me to measure from. I'm hoping to drill the holes and install the brackets at the correct width the first time. I'm going to cry (scream, screech, shout bad works, kick the dresser, LOL) if I drill the holes, insert the screw anchors, and install the brackets and rod, just to learn I'm inches off from the width I need....See Morenew to installing traverse curtain rod- pulls hard- fix?
Comments (5)I appreciate your thoughts. I can't take it down as it was so hard to put up. I don't want to take the curtains down as the liners were so hard to get right. I can't see if a cord is messed up in that groove but that's a reasonable theory. I did notice they catch much worse when shutting than opening, and then I notivcd that the track extends to a second rod on one side and the wheels are catching at this point when I'm shutting the curtains. I tried bending it slightly in or out to stop this without success. It could be a cord tangle AND this "catch". I don't see any packaging material stuck anywhere. Neither will be easy to fix. When it pulls itself apart I will be done with it guess. Perhaps the kind at Menards are not worth it. The other small town stores here didn't carry them at all....See MoreUser
