Georgysmom' Pecan Pie Bars from last year. I'm going to make a batch today - some will stay out for us to eat and the rest will go into the freezer for future treats.

Eight dozen chocolate chip cookies made for the people who worked 18 hour days for two weeks to restore our power after severe snow/wind storms last winter. I heard later that they were a big hit with those tired, cold and hungry workers:

Just made peanut butter bars, dream bars and pecan butter tart squares. Still plan to make lemon bars and chocolate drops.

line with parchment paper. (Do not grease parchment paper) In large

and evenly in pan. Bake 15 - 20 min. In a large bowl, mix together
eggs, corn syrup, 1 1/2 C. sugar, 3 T. melted butter and vanilla.
Stir in pecans. Spread over hot crust and bake 25 - 27 min. or until
set. Cool completely and cut into bars. (I use a combination of half
dark and half light corn syrup.) I cut them in smallish bars because
they are rich....you can always go back for seconds. DH will take one
out every day when I have them in the freezer.

Summer would you give me the recipe for the butter tart squares? I had copied the recipe you had posted a while back, but lost it. They are so good.

My neighbor brought me a gift bag of indiv. wrapped cookies of different varieties. She said, "Now these freeze really well". I just looked at her and replied, "I don't think so. These will be gone in three days".

Oh, and I was trying to think of an easy cookie recipe to make for the guys at the garage who work on my old car. The chocolate chip is a good one.

Happy Winter Solstice to everyone. While it means the daylight is the shortest of the year, it also means that our access to starlight and the peace that the night sky brings with dark interrupted by stars is the longest of the year.

And as someone here said some time ago, every day from now on will give us a bit more daylight time.

I don't bake any more, but I have some Moose Munch containers for gifts that I'm having a hard time NOT opening. That pecan pie looks wonderful, one of my favorites. Probably one of the sweetest pies made.
