One of my favourite Christmas decorations (he's about 2 feet tall) in front of my tree (I decorated my tree a couple of days ago).

Susan, like I tell Bigbaby, "We all do what we can." When the kids were little and I lived in the mountains of New Mexico we'd go for hikes. At times it was frustrating because I'm the kind of guy that always wants to see what's over the next hill and what's around the next bend in the river. The kids would get tired out before me. Now, we go out backpacking and they're in their prime and I'm the "old man" holding them back. When were our abilities equal?? It must have been one rainy weekend in October of 1998 and I missed it! I found a few more old pictures that I've scanned to the computer.
A short explanation about this one: My paternal grandparents came to this country just before the First World War. They lived through the shortages and rationing. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor my Grandpa knew what was coming. The very next day (Monday morning) he went to town and bought a new car knowing that soon none would be available. This is Grandpas brand new 1942 Ford. He paid 1004 dollars. It's also the car Dad and Mom did their courting in a few years later.

We're having our first snow. Dogs love it. We put little lights around the lily bed in the yard to keep them out of it, red and white, real pretty at night.

an old one from Eastern Washington. This farm has a HUGE fence made of wheels, gears and what nots. Here is the end... or the beginning! LOL it covers acres!
