I am not sure about the pollinators, but a one-year old grape vine probably won't have any fruit this summer, should have some next summer, but it might only a couple of clusters, and by the third summer should have many (dozens) of clusters of fruit. At least that is the schedule at my place, where we tend to have periods of dry soil in the summer that may slow down the growth of grapes. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the schedule is accelerated in other places.

I could have written your post as this is exactly the question we have been asking ourselves! We also have 8' ceilings and will be getting Kraftmaid 36'' cabinets in a simple shaker style (Lyndale - same as yours but in cherry). We haven't ordered yet, but we're thinking of raising the cabinets by an inch or so to decrease the space above slightly and add an inch or so of light rail under the cabinets, so that the distance from the countertop to the light rail is 18''. That would leave us with about 5'' above the cabinets. We think we'll get the large cove molding and have about 2 1/2'' of plain filler in between. I believe there's something called large starter molding that looks like filler but has a horizontal piece attached at the bottom to form an L-shape. I'm thinkin g that this would enable us to have the filler piece come forward a little from the cabinet front. Does that make sense? Please keep us posted in case you find a better solution! HTH!

Arcy tell him he sure does have talent and skill! Amazing bowl. My husband used to do wood working and really appreciated that bowl. He lost his entire work shop and tools in the flood. He had planned to do much more once retired but now he can't. I told him to buy a couple of pieces of equipment and we could look at pawn shops too. I loved the beautiful wood products he made. I agree I can stare at the grain and beauty. I have not done macrame in ages! I don't think I could now with my hands the way they are. I know you will have a great time creating your pieces!
