how do you store tablecloths?
Comments (27)Great news about the 20" hangars. I had no idea of these. For a foam tube, HD has pipe insulation in various diameters, with the slit along one side. This might be the ticket and now is the season for getting it. Also re getting the creases out: I use my Mom's trick which I grew up helping her with. She would put the cloth on the table over her table pads, and simply iron the cloth right on the table. I've done this all my life, although I use a lower temp than I would on my ironing table. It works great and the table pads seem no worse for wear. Also, I often use a simple white "undercloth", sort of like a slip for a table. Katie...See Moredo you recognize this old block pattern
Comments (7)I found it in Jinny Beyer's 'The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns' on page 145. It was first published as "Double Pinwheel" on Dec. 18, 1940 under the Alice Brooks by-line in the Bismark Tribune. I also found it re-advertised in 1964 so you can see for yourself. Ms. Beyer says it is designed on a 6x6 grid, which is much easier to see with the book and transparent overlay that she provides in a back folder. Imagine a little nine patch grid over one of the quadrants, and you can see how the proportions make it a 6x6. Here is a link that might be useful: Double Pinwheel by Alice Brooks....See Morerecognize this pattern?
Comments (8)It is Alexes, I have the pattern. Not sure of the name, I'll go check next trip to the basement. The inner star is gathered I'm pretty sure. It's pretty sweet. I have a real similar one done in polyester, it's amaging! (Oh, I collect Polyquilts......yes, I know, I'm a nut!) Jill...See MoreDo you recognize this fabric? Bosporus flax companion
Comments (6)Personally, I have used housefabric.com many times in mty design work and have found them to be wonderful. Their customer service has been exemplary. Last year I needed to find a fabric I had purchased from them much earlier and couldn't remember the manufacturer. When I called, they were able to tell me what it was as they kept a record of all my prior purchases. Never had an issue with them...See Morebeckysharp Reinstate SW Unconditionally
