As a lawyer woke up in the hospital after surgery he asked, “Why are all the blinds drawn in here?” The nurse answered, “There’s a fire across the street and we didn’t want you to think the operation had been a failure.”

I think your idea that a dog even with all of its care needs would be preferred by a parent to a drum kit as a gift for a child is a good interpretation. It's a little funnier because it's so clearly a drum kit.

Salonva, that is so true! My DH grew up in Canada. While French was mandatory in school, the only French he remembers is cereal ingredients.
