Bathrooms Flooring Design Dilemma

Need help picking up floor tile style & color

I'm on a budget, so only looking to redo only the floor tile in the master bathroom including shower stall and looking to carry the floor tile to the hall bathroom. I know cabinets are outdated but that's not on the budget right now.

The vanity area in the master bath currently has peel and stick groutable vinyl that I laid on concrete after the carpet was taken out. I'm keeping the prefab walls in both showers. The wood seat on the toilet has been replaced by a white wood seat. I tend to lean towards traditional styles. I'm struggling with a good tile style and color.

You cannot change the shower floor tile, attempting to do so will ruin the waterproofing. IMO any changes, other than painting (walls/ vanities), is a waste of money and effort.

chiflipper- I am going to hire a professional to change the tile, and the ones who've been by have recommended doing a new shower pan and waterproofing. The issue is apparently the wrong tile was used for the shower and most of the grout is gone. There is concern about the floor not being waterproof now.

That is a tough one. I have vinyl composition tile VCT that I installed when I wanted the look of Marmoleum but didn't find a color that suited me. In know vinyl is not common on this forum but it is a great fit for me. It's warm and comfortable for standing and things don't break when dropped. It's been in 5 years and no wear & it is very easy to clean & doesn't show dirt. My color is a terra cotta called Mesa. For you I envision picking up the red speckles from the kitchen counter. I envision a darker floor than your two cabinet colors. But research dark floors (like espresso stain hardwood) here -- folks say every speck of dust shows. These photos are Centiva VCT tile and one cork photo named Centiva Victory dark red, Centiva Victory cabernet, and Lisbon Cork Porto.

I went back to the tile store and decided that the brown one is out. I think Chispa is correct, having the whole first floor with brown would be too much. I did pick up a whiter tile upon Color Zen's recommendation. What do you think? The first photo is taken inside under 2700k house light like yesterday. The 2nd photo is taken outside on a very cloudy day. Amazing how the color changes according to the light source! (The gray looks completely brown). The glossy white book is the color of the kitchen base and tall cabinets. The sample on top of the book is the wall cabs and island.

That is a truly beautiful and elegant kitchen. i can see why you'd want to replace the backsplash. I think you'd tire less of the lighter tile in the long run. For starters on the lighting, I'd check anything by Visual Comfort & Co from Circa Lighting. The light quality from those lights is superb. Also take a look at the modern designs from Hinkley Lighting. On your floor, you might consider a product like Loba's 2K Invisible Protect or Loba 2K Supra A.T. without a stain. White oak in lighter tones is very popular right now without any stain.
