Comments (7)Wow! What a wide open question! LOL A lot depends on the amount of money you want to spend. Machines have quite a range of prices from less than $50.00 to over $10,000. and from the most basic straight stitch only, to one that will do most everything except cut out your project, and everything in between. I would suggest you go to the websites of the manufacturers like Singer, Brother, Janome, Bernina, Babylock etc. and see what the different machines can do. A google search of sewing machines will get you started. Once you decide on the features you must have, then find a store that carries those machines and do a test run. Take some of your denim with you so you will know it sews properly on that particular fabric. I wish you luck and know that you will find the perfect machine for you. Comments (7)I bought my Bernina over 10 years ago for $1000. it was half price because Bernina was coming out with a new line and the shop owner wanted to make room in her shop for the new line. I have seen Bernina half price when they just want to get rid of older models. Call around. I drove an extra hour but saved half of the price and my machine is still wonderful. They also sometimes have machines that others have traded in. I don't reccomend buying a used machine from ebay. You can get something good from a reputable dealer for 1000....See MoreI finally bought one
Comments (3)Congratulations, I'm sure you will enjoy having your own machine. Brother's are a nice machine to start with, just be careful or you'll end up addicted to sewing macines!...See MoreAnne
