ISO a good garden shed....cheap!
Comments (9)Sharon, In my opinion while the Suncast shed is cute with the windows and all, I'm not sure you will be pleased with the overall durability of a plastic shed. If you click on the specifications tab of the ad and go to warranty it says: see owners manual for warranty, meaning to me the manufacturer doesn't want to be up front with a warranty. Also the Suncast shed doesn't include shipping in the price. For my money I'd look into a vinyl clad steel shed like this Arrow Sheridan. If your existing shed is not on a concrete slab you would probably need to buy the floor frame kit extra which would still put the cost at $900 with shipping included. The Arrow shed also comes with a 15 yr. warranty. After just a few years of extremes from 20 degree to 100 degree weather the plastic shed will be brittle and susceptible to breakage from hail and high winds while the steel shed may have hail damage but is still standing strong. Since sheds are a seasonal item, you might get a better price if you wait until the weather gets cold and Home Depot and Lowes both offer 6 months no interest on purchases over $300, also if you buy at the store instead of on-line don't be afraid to ask for a better price. You might just get another 10-20% off! Keith...See MoreGreen Funk on Wooden Spoon???
Comments (2)I would call Oxo and tell them to send you another, or take it back where you got it for a refund. Who knows what it is and green is not a good color on food items....See MoreISO ideas to paint on wooden sled....
Comments (4)I know exactly the kind of sled you are talking about. If you wanted to you could still paint a single snowman, poinsettia, or a Christmas tree broken up across the front. Full bodied designs like those do look OK across a slat surface. It's just a matter of the look you want. If you don't want to do that, you can paint each slat with a different motif or all of them with the same - say little trees down one, little snowmen down another, etc. If I were painting motifs on the slats I would probably put little snowmen with snowflakes in between each one on a blue background, trees with Christmas balls between each one on a red background, or poinsettias with berries and/or holly leaves between each on a white background and in this case probably paint some edging lines in metallic gold around the sled, on the runners and maybe even on the poinsettias themselves. You could also paint all of the slats with a running holly & berry design which would look very nice. These are just a few ideas maybe someone else here will come up with some more....See MoreDo you cook your wooden spoons?
Comments (12)Some of our members, like Agmss15, who are woodworkers probably know better than I, but it sounds to me like they haven't adequately dried the wood. After an artisanal woodworker carves a bowl, he puts it in a brown paper bag to dry because the paper holds enough moisture to keep it from drying too fast and cracking. If they want you to cook the wooden spoon, I wonder if it's because they expect it to dry during shipment and time before sale, and just want to be sure it's fully dry. Weird thing to ask people to do....See Morebbstx
