How do you organize/ store jewelry?
Comments (11)I have a walk in closet that has one long blank wall, no shelving or anything. I bought the strips of wood with hooks on them and hang my necklaces on it. I hang them by color and can get several on one hook. I have a lot costume jewelry. I have some better pieces stored in the hanger with pockets shown in the picture of another reply. I put a t shirt over it and then a long sleeved man's shirt over the t shirt to hide it. I have earrings on a stand that sits on my bathroom vanity and rings in a drawer in the bedroom....See MoreHow do you store your jewelry?
Comments (37)Hmmmm, good question! It'll be interesting to hear what others do with theirs. I have a lot more silver jewelry than gold. You've seen the jumble of how I hang my necklaces on the inside of a cabinet door. No rhyme or reason there, except to keep them displayed so that I can see them all in a glance. I have a LOT of earrings. I use those stackable, velvet-lined jewelry organizers in my large, long dressing table drawer. I keep the gold and silver earrings separated. I then try to keep them grouped together by stone colors, so that I can quickly choose between them. I don't wear bracelets, but keep my Native American silver (with turquoise, green turquoise amethyst, etc.) wrist cuffs in that same drawer. My rings are all in one area of the drawer, as well. Jewelry that I don't wear as often, such as my silver concho belt, good watches, old charm bracelet from high school, out of season jewelry, etc. are stored together in the second jewelry drawer. It works for me....See MoreHow do you guys store your Perlite
Comments (2)I guess I'm treating it like white gold ;-) It's not something I would just put a piece of tape over the open bag and just plop it on a corner for me. I've done that and things get moved around, shifted, and next thing ya know, there is more #1.5 grade perlite in the bag than the #3 that it started out with. Ha, I even go out of my way to drive to this particular Hydro. shop as I know their stuff has been handled proper.......See MoreHow do you store your fresh-baked bread?
Comments (23)If you want a glass cloche, Libbey has one with a wood base (picture from Amazon). I have a similar one with a glass pedestal for cakes. The advantage to Libbey is a truly clear glass dome (i.e., color adjusted) of good quality (not too thin or thick) and decent price. I'd think you could cut on the base, if you didn't go wild. Or you could add a round of plywood skin. That said, I have a fancy British enamelled bread tin that matches my cookie tin and cake tin. The latter two are lovely. The bread doesn't keep well in the bread box. At all. So I hope this works for you as well as it does for Birdstalker....See MoreAlisande
