It's a daunting task FOR SURE. Soooo glad I am DONE!!

Still waiting for DS to arrive to help retrieve the boxes of decorations. But this fellow was so focused on his group of hens that I was only 10' when I took his photo.

I have the tree up but not decorated yet. I did manage to finish the mantel yesterday.

It's been years since I put up any Christmas decorations, but I saw this cute Santa and just had to bring him home. From the top of his hat to the bottom of his beard, he measures about 36 inches, so he's a good size too:

I finally got the garland that goes on top of the kitchen Hoosier cabinet, from the garage to the house. In all the years I've been putting this garland up there, this year I about went nuts. It's a homemade garland I made of grapevine and boxwood ( boxwood dried out by now, I replace eventually) and red berry sprigs from Pat Catans.

Anyway, I could not get it to stay up there. The more I tired, the more frustrated I got, dried boxwood leaves all over the floor, berry sprigs dropping on my head. What the heck? Finally I gave it another nudge and it's up there, precariously.

I think I simply can't get in the Christmas mood like other years or something.

I can't get in the mood yet either. I don't know what it is about this year. I did buy this wreath at our Farmers Market a couple of weeks ago. That's about as far as I've gotten.

I'll prolly not decorate this year either, but this picture is one of my favorite old Christmas pictures.

Angel that we use to put on the big tree. We now use a pre-decorated small fake tree. We put up the decorations this coming weekend.
