What color should I stain tongue and groove porch ceiling?
Comments (27)I am reading this thread and working on a porch ceiling too. I like this color and would love to know what is shown in the photo and what stain she decided to go with!! Any answers? The wood is pine and I’m leaning towards Golden Oak or possibly Mountain Ash by SW for a hint of gray. Let me know if anyone has suggestions!! Appreciate the help!...See Moreelectrical in tongue & groove ceiling (no attic)!
Comments (12)The wire is likely wire stapled to the beams making it tough to pull, butt not necessarily impossible. Unfortunately with T&G, there may not be away to do this without making a bigger hole to do some investigating. You could possibly open up a larger hole where the existing fixture is being it will be cut out for the skylight anyways without having to do trial and error on the new location. Where is the light switch in relation to the fixture locations? Just be careful If you end up capping the wires, even if they're disconnected to the switch. In the event they get connected at a later date and not sitting in a junction box, that could be trouble....See MoreFinish for Tongue and Groove Ceiling
Comments (9)I wish I had painted the sides of my bead board ceiling boards. However, I'm wondering, do you mean actually paint the entire board before installation? What about nail holes afterwards? they would need to be filled, sanded down and then repainted, but I guess it wouldn't be such a big deal. In fact I'm betting the entire ceiling would have to be painted again due to smudges and such from the work of the installers. ETA: that is a good point about sanding before priming. I did that, and now I see I could have saved myself a lot of work if I hadn't....See Moreideas for painted brick and tongue and groove ceiling
