There's no rule. Hang art wherever it pleases your eyes.

It’s marble because I like it, and it was way less expensive than quartz. I can handle having natural marble in the master bath bc it’s just me and hubby. No other people using the bathroom, not a high-traffic area, no hair dye, etc. In the kitchen, we run a hard-working, scratch-cooking, big-family kitchen. No marble there. Kitchen has leathered antique brown (looks black) perimeter, and polished white macaubus quartzite island. In my home, marble in the kitchen would be a very bad choice.

You can use marble in your kitchen; lots of people do. But you have to be okay with the drawbacks. It would be the poorest choice for our hard-working kitchen. But many people have marble in their kitchens and love it. I love marble. That’s why I chose it for our master bath countertop and bath surround (not shower tile). The master bath is not such a hard-working space like the kitchen. We have a very large family, and I’ve taught the kids to cook, so we needed more hard-wearing materials in there.

I do want something durable In the kitchen so I agree with you 100% I was hoping it would turn out to be granite or quartz lol

Definitely no rules apply here. Besides, it's your bathtub. Who is going to come in and see it but you? Since you will be sitting in the tub facing it, it should definitely be something that suits you to gaze upon, something you won't tire of seeing.. (I might tire of a quote.) You might have fun considering different shapes of frames -- round, hexagon, gothic arch -- or a long verticle rectangle. Hard to make suggestions without knowing if the style and core colors of the artwork you have is something you want to basically want to match or if you want something to contrast it in some way -- more minimalist or something distinctly figurative or a classic art work... etc).

Another picture would be fine but why not mix it up a bit and make it more interesting? I would hang some floating shelves and display items that you would love to look at.

I thought of suggesting shelves but wondered if the shutters pictured actually have a window behind them, and if the shutters open into the room -- in which case, any shelves would need to be lower than the swing of the windows -- and then you might want some art above that.

They make a sealer for natural stone like marble now called Dry Treat. It is supposed to last 15-25 yrs now as opposed to the one year u get from most other dealers. Makes a huge difference in marble countertop maintenance! If I love marble, I just get in the habit of wiping up everything immediately, but the sealer makes a big difference. The french just consider it part of the love in the kitchen. ;).
