Painted bedroom blue.. what color to paint the bathroom? (PICS!)
Comments (10)I posted this for you under the DIY Master Bath post, but just in case you didn't see it. sonaliagrawal, my DH just removed an 85" unframed mirror from my boys bathroom. He used two sets of Gordon brand Heavy Duty Suction Cups from Harbor Freight. DH says they were less than $10 a piece. They're designed with a hand grip and a suction cup on either side. They tighten down to the mirror with clips. Without much force, the mirror pulled from the wall and left behind 8-10 blobs of black mastic on the drywall. You then carry the mirror away holding the hand grips, so it helps to have a set regardless of the size of your mirror, so you can balance the weight of the mirror with both arms. I couldn't have removed a mirror this large - it definitely took the strength of a man to carry it away. I used a metal scraper to get off the mastic blobs that would be visible if I remodel with two framed mirrors. They came off but took the top layer of paper from the drywall. Any blobs that will be hidden behind the new mirrors are being left as is. I spackled the torn drywall spots today, but haven't sanded them yet. If there's a better way to get off the mastic, I'd love to hear it. Hope I helped....See MoreSo what color should I paint this bathroom?
Comments (51)Here it is: (The second photo is showing up sideways for me right now -- don't know why.) The color is Opal (BM OC-73). When the guy at the paint store was mixing it up, I asked him what colors were in it, and he said it is a mixture of yellow, maroon, and gray, believe it or not. It sort of shimmers between peachy and a cooler pink, depending on the light in the room. I chose the "pearl" finish. So what do you all think? (And btw, happy new year!)...See MoreTiny bathroom solutions
Comments (11)That's so true @needinfo1. I would think the shower curtain could prevent the toilet from getting wet though. Idk! @errant_gw I love those shelves, I will definitely do that! I didn't even think about cleaning. I love reclaimed wood so that will be great. I will post pictures when it's done!! Getting rid of the door to the guest bathroom is a good idea. It's a pretty far walk around though to get to the guest bedroom for someone who just showered and may be in a towel- they'd have to walk through the kitchen, living and dining room to get to their room. The layout would work a lot better in the bathroom though if we could get rid of the second door. Thanks for the ideas! this is the main floor plan that I decided to draw up one day. The square footage isn't right at all, I just guessed. But it gives the idea of the bathroom....See MorePaint color for tiny Victorian bathroom with mega high ceiling!
Comments (18)As localeater mentioned "Are you going to run the black hex up the wall behind the tub?" to which I'll add and everywhere else the vinyl is now? Or perhaps a different tile in those areas? That would be a big determinant regarding colour....See More- 4 years ago
