Interesting. I hadn’t really considered a bold color, but I love some of the bold powder rooms I’ve been seeing with strong colors or bold wallpaper. Any specific color you might suggest? Thank you!

Not a designer . . . I'd get as close to the wall tile color as possible. Let the flooring be the star with the vanity playing the supporting role. An interesting lighting fixture and simple accessories would be the bit players. But I tend towards simple, which might not be right for you. Regardless, it's going to be beautiful.

I would do a white closer to the tile. If you do a search for small bathrooms and blue floors, you'll see several ideas..you could do the turquoise color, but that might make the space feel too small

Question re: bold color: I would mimic the color of the floor tile on the wall for the cohesiveness rather than introduce another color if it were me. If you go with white, it's going to look institutional. You've got so much white in there already plus the white in the floor tile, that darker walls are not going to close that room in - especially since you have so little paintable wall space (from what I can tell) and that big mirror is going to cover a lot of it over the vanity.

I would also forget white and bring in more of the floor coloring. White or a neutral is dropping the ball. Small baths are the perfect place to go bold. Rather than trying to match it perfectly I'd look for something just a shade or 2 lighter. Go bold

I agree, bring in the color of the floor. Your floors are gorgeous. Dont paint it white, give it a bit of glamour.

Seeing the mirror as well, you could go with the floor color..there won't be much wall shown in the alcove, but just enough to show some color

Of the samples you showed, I like #7 the best, but I think it could still be a bit darker. It's a nice neutral that will contrast well with the floor.

I especially like gray with teal.

Medium gray with the marble so pretty. My mom inlaw had hollywood lights going upper & sides.

Her bathroom is silver/black abstract foil wallpaper with some white & a little shiny!

Dont try to match the tile floor exactly - you wont be able to, and it will look "off." Instead, find a blue green a couple shades lighter.

actually, if you have a tile, you can take it to the paint store and they can match it

Well OK, but depending on how color-sensitive the OP is, it may not be a close enough match. Although granted many/most people may not notice or care.

Acrylic paint (essentially a plastic) and ceramic tile glaze are two different materials, with different pigment chemicals. The paint match is usually done by computer and the mixer can manually tweak as well so some would depend on their skill.

Since tile is only on the floor and paint only on the wall probably any difference would be barely noticeable if at all If tile and paint were adjoining and side by side though thats were you could probably detect a noticeable difference.

Thank you all so much for responding!! I really like the idea of repeating the floor color on the walls, unfortunately my husband has vetoed that idea. He is not a huge fan of bright colors, so even the floor tile was a stretch for him.

So I think the wall paint will have to be a neutral. Do any of the choices on the wall seem better, or does it not matter since they are mostly pretty similar? Thank you all again for your generous advice!

You need a Gray color cause the Bathroom sink

If you have to go with white, make sure it's something that has some gray in it and not warm. The counter looks a bit gray so it should be on the cold side of whites..

of your choices #2 seems the best to me. as the others either look yellowish, pinkish, greenish to me. your mirror seems like it will be taking up a lot of the space so to me the neutral is the right way to go.

How do you want to feel in this bath? If you want to be energized and stimulated then go for one of the bold colors recommended by others. If you prefer a more calming effect, and your style is a bit more sophisticated, then I would recommend something different for you.

I am an interior designer and color is my passion. A neutral gray in a medium to medium-light value and a washable matte finish that picks up on the gray in the marble and wall grout would offset and show off the subtle white tile and carrerra marble beautifully. At the same time it would balance the boldness of the floor while still allowing the floor to remain the boldest color in the room and the primary focal point. A neutral color in a medium tone would also unify your finishes as well as the distinct areas of bold and subtle colors. A beautiful, wholistic, balanced interior design will give you a balanced, whole, and beautiful feeling in this bath!

We used SW crushed ice which is a “white” with some gray. It’s cool, not warm. But we have lots of natural light. Before you choose your final color, make sure your exact lighting (and bright LED light bulbs) are installed because you can’t accurately evaluate the paint colors if the lighting isn’t in yet.

A light color is a good idea - white with maybe a "hint" of color?? Light grays - Sherwin Williams Crushed Ice or On the Rocks - Lt creams - Westhighland White, Casa Blanca - Neutrals - Lotus Pod or Creamy might be good choices too! Happy Decorating!

I was actually thinking of a paler green,,like a parrot or lime green, but toned down. would look great w/the turquoise.

is this the only wall getting painted? ( I would have just continued w/the tile)

the mirror will cover most of it, and it's encased in all the white. I think you could go w/a color (and not gray)

Or, try the opposite and go w/a dark shade of turquoise or darker blue/green. that would also look very pretty against the marble. something like a deep peacock

I've painted w/this ocean radiance color and it's a beautiful shade. I think the darker tones would look stunning behind the sink. (it's only paint. if you don't like it, repaint it)

BTW, the natural opposite match to turquoise is orange/coral/red shades. they look beautiful together. (which is why you see natural turquoise paired w/red coral in jewelry)

But if hubby is afraid of bold colors, then at least try to bring in these shades w/some artwork of some type. some watercolors w/bold corals/orange hung on the wall would look nice on a white background.

Try BM Simply White. it's the perfect neutral white.

I would not go neutral with the paint...this would deny the bold step of color on the floor..try taking a tile to the paint store and ask for a lighter shade diluted by 1/2 ....paint chips usually provide these shade options...

paint is cheap and you will have very little color showing with all the tile and the large mirror. I still say this is the place since you committed to the bold floor tile. every time I second guessed a decision and played it safe... I wished I hadn't. I wanted a dark navy and medium tan in my master but lightened both. OK but falling short of what I imagined. was afraid to paint every wall in my open concept home and went lighter in the hall and kitchen. I loved my original choice and the other looked white against it. if you can't change his mind please pull a gray from your counter at least. it is real hard to match all the whites going on in a room. you obviously wanted the floor to pop. everything else is a blend of different whites. another won't do anything for the room. it is said to repeat a color in 3 spaces in a room to keep your eyes moving tying everything together. floor wall and art with that pop of color white is everywhere in this room tile, toilet, sink. bring in some more interest. these pictures are to show contrast, not as a suggestion of what color. know that all the white in your room will diminish the overall saturation of the darker color
