Printer/Fax Recommendations
Comments (4)I have owned three Lexmark All-In-One (AIO) machines and currently have a X8350, yes it is an inkjet. This has had good reviews and I am very happy with it as an "office" machine. Discounts are available and I paid something around $100 at BJs just before Christmas. It has a flat-bed scanner with a multi-sheet feed, used to fax or copy. The display/controls are very intuitive and it has a full color control screen that is very easy to read in poor light. Also, it has a set of memory card input slots, e.g., like what is in digital cameras. I have not tried it on pictures, but it will do them I'm sure, best to get the gloss photo paper and it may be a challenge to do 4x6 inch prints, the most popular in my home. Lexmark is also one of the easiest to refill cartridges, making ink far more economical....See MorePrinter won't print
Comments (15)I can certainly sympathize with your situation...I have been without a printer for many months now because the ink cartridges are so expensive. I have a Canon Multipass 550 which has been a lifesaver in the past...being able to fax, copy and print...then when you do breakdown to buy one...install it and it still says empty cartridge, you really want to scream. But get this...the cartridge isn't the problem...it's the print head...to the tune of $50 or so and this is the third time I have replaced it and lord only knows how many cartridges were full before I wised up! Now get this....those print heads can be washed in your kitchen sink, dried on the counter and reinstalled...I sure am glad I saved the other two, i'll try that next time! But, now...I can't get the printer to print everything on the page....it prints one or two lines of the document, then skips a good paragraph size area and picks up the print again......any suggestions! and of course, it doesn't help that the manual is online and no hard copy is provided...I'm ready to do the old uninstall/reinstall thing and see if that helps! Technology sucks....here today, obsolete before noon the next day! and it wasn't a cheapee either...about $250- $300 smack a roos 2-3 years ago! Even with the cheapees....you spend a fortune on ink, that's were they make the money i guess! So what do I have to lose if the washing dosen't work......blank pages! Congratulations to anyone who can buy Canon Cartridges for $2.00 what is the secret! Comments (35)I think this might be the new brother color model that replaced my version. They come out with new versions regularly. This one has a bigger touch screen mine is not a touch screen, just an information screen. But this is a great price. It looks almost exactly like mine except for the touch screen, mine has a regular screen there. It uses led light source instead of the laser light source. From what I've read it's very similar, both use toner cartridges. http://www.adorama.com/BRMFC9130CW.html?hotlink=t&svfor=5m&gclid=CNDfnpa1jMoCFQaJaQod74QB-A...See MoreFrustrating printer error
Comments (26)Thanks, team! :-) I tried the update this morning, and it didn't do anything. But I think Dees may be onto something. I remember when I moved the printer a bit to get at the connections in back, it made a jerky "on and off" type sound that I think would be compatible with a loose connection. I tried to check the printer-computer connection this morning, but didn't succeed very well. In the process I managed to disconnect one of my monitors, but somehow restored it. With two monitors, the laser printer, my big photo printer, the flatbed photo scanner, and three speakers (yes, I have a long desk--it also holds my ham radio), a lot of wires are plugged into that computer. I'll ask my son--who plugged them all in--to check the connection for me....See More- 5 years ago
