Dining room paint color

What color should I paint my dining room? We currently have two paint samples on our wall. The one on the left is grey with green undertones and the one on the right is grey with yellow undertones. We need the color to go well with the dark wood trim and I’d like it if it didn’t totally clash with the kitchen which you can see is a lighter green. My husband likes “historic craftsman” colors...green, gold, etc but I feel like that would be hard to decorate with. Advice, please?!

My gut says the green undertones but honestly we need to see the room and the kitchen

Whatever color you chose, on the paint website they show you what colors coordinate with it as well as similar colors. Example: https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW2860-sage#/6164/?s=coordinatingColors&p=PS0

Both those paint colors are really pretty, but I can't tell what color your cabinets are. Can you upload a picture of them? From the little bit I can see, it looks like the cabinets are in a totally different palate. Generally you want your colors to be in the same palate so your house looks cohesive.

Perhaps a sagey gray green? Is it truly purple or more of a cordovan color (which is how it reads on my monitor)? If it's a cordovan, one could do a lot of things to make it work if you like the color. I have a F&B color called "Pelt" in my guest room. I used white woodwork, white bed spreads, and yellow/white plaid taffeta for festoon blinds, dust ruffles and headboards. It looks fabulous.

A dining room is used for short times, mostly in the evening. Because of this, the colour scheme can be more dramatic. A more intense palette might serve you better than a lighter one. A professional, who can see the space and evaluate its natural and artificial light sources, would be of great help to you here.

It looks like your chairs are very neutral. What are the colors in the rest of the rooms? What about window treatments? I would suggest finding a rug or drapes that I love and then choosing a paint color in one of the lightest shades contained therein, since the room is small.

Idk all the items you have, but I see a retro refrigerator - do you like that vibe of clear colors [instead of muted/ greyed]?

Have you considered using the same color as the kitchen for the dining room. Its a beautiful color, and would look very nice in the dining room too. Next time you post pictures, please post them a bit larger. Its hard to get a good idea with the smaller pictures. Love your retro kitchen.

The grey on the right (top) would coordinate better with your kitchen. However, I prefer the grey on the left (bottom) with your wood trim and furnishings.
