Shabby Chic Bedroom Pink
Comments (28)writersblock and polly so glad you also feel the above bedding but with plain white curtains would be best. That's what I've been thinking also. The white tulle sounds lovely or maybe eyelet, or maybe dotted swiss. kms we considered the Target bedding . . . it would sure save me a few bucks. But DD just doesn't like it. She really knows what she likes! It's really interesting . . . I never had such opinions at her age. She really is an "old soul" and actually does her fair share of mothering me at times. polly we just adore beds with curved footboards!! We never even knew about them until we found the website I mentioned before (foreverpinkcottagechic.com) We actually wanted a twin bed but couldn't find one with that look . . . so we decided to get the full bed. Today we also decided we're going to get a crystal chandy to complete the look! It should be stunning since it is a south facing room and the rainbows will be incredible. We never had a ceiling fixture in that room so we'll have to run wires. I'm just not sure where to hang it. If we do it centered in the room close to the ceiling then the sun may not hit it. If we hang it too low it may bonk heads? I wonder if we should plan on hanging it over the vanity area on the window side of the room? Or if that really limits furniture placement then?...See MoreCurtains for DD's Shabby Chic Bedroom
Comments (27)Your welcome Judy. I have 2 tiny ballet dancers, 4 & 6, part of the reason I bought the tulle. I had such a problem finding WT's for that room. The windows in the room are caddy cornered, and part of the problem is one of the window's is boarded up from the outside. Our home is a work in progress. It has been a slow renovation/restoration, 3 years in the making. We found the windows in their room behind knotty pine paneling. Their bedroom is not finished, I still intend on hanging their tutu's on the wall. The tulle was meant to be temporary, but I really like how it turned out, and since we have so many other projects going on in the house, they will probably stay indefinitely. I will post pics tomorrow. I don't have any close-ups and the girlies are asleep in there right now. BTW, I am delighted to see your DD's bedroom and the similarities in my girls' bedroom. Perhaps this may mean they will still like it when they are 15? I could only hope ;-)...See MoreSelecting Chandelier for guest bedroom
Comments (18)happy, if we ever really had an overnight guest, it would be a miracle. LOL I should be calling it the cat room because that's who will occupy it 99% of the time. Cats got it good at my house. LOL It's a second bedroom I had to call something, so I thought calling it the guest bedrooms would be appropriate, since the 3rd. bedroom is being called the office. It's just DH, me and the pets. Kidding aside I was actually going to look for an antique or old desk fan for the room as a decorative accent as well as a functional piece when needed....See MoreSources for Shabby Chic Fabric
Comments (2)This is a difficult question. I love to shop at thrift stores - but it takes some looking to find what you want. I have just made it a hobby to tour the thrift stores once a month for fun. Your best bet is probably to sign up for JoAnne's advertisment. Each time they mail you one there is a 40% off coupon. Even on the web you can get 40 and sometimes 50% off the fabric or item you buy. They have lots of vintage look fabrics. What about an old handmade quilt for the bed and some old lace curtains? Set an old doll on the bed. Then you could just buy fabrics for some neat pillows. I see handmade throw rugs at the thrift stores all the time. Just some ideas. As far as thrift stores go, if you want to try that idea, go to the church and independent ones if you can find them. They are much cheaper than Goodwill. Salvation Army is good. I love shabby chic, so good luck....See MoreCocotini Hartman
