Master bathroom question
Building a new house with custom cabinets. Should I keep the master vanity like this with the sink centered or should I move the sink to be centered above the doors so that I have more open counter space? I'm leaning towards more open counter space. I would lose another drawer, but I think I have enough, and I think it would look better. I think it looks silly with one fake drawer and one working drawer above the doors. My husband will have his own separate vanity, so I think there's enough storage. Thanks!

Comments (6)I believe the architect of this home, Al Beadle, built mostly custom homes. I believe the EIchler homes were more tract homes. From what I have seen, most of Beadle's homes are large for the era. This home was built for the owner of the Safari hotel, and his family, which was recently demolished. Comments (10)Why not have double mirrors/cabinets with a piece of trim between them and you could mount another light there? The trim could be incorporated into the window trim to tie it all together. Here is an example. Like this set up on the base cabinets.

4 years agoKeep the sink centered but have drawers on both sides. It gives each person their own space... both counter space and drawers. This is my master it's not a huge vanity.

Since you are getting custom you can get it built however you want. Go to home stores and look at vanities to see what you like. We bought an older house so it is what it is. I prefer having 3 drawers of different depths to hold taller and shorter things. We have 4 drawers all the same. And this vanity was custom built but in 2006. Best to know what you like before they start. Just another houzz photo
