Comments (3)Personally I don't like to mix metals that much if there is big contrast-- using a copper sink in a small room where you have a nickle shower enclosure would seem to highlight the differences in color of metals no matter what tile you are using... If you want a metal sink would you consider a hammered stainless or pewter metal sink?...See MoreBathroom floor/wall tiles for glossy white cabinet & bamboo counter
Comments (4)Hi Roxanne, I recommend using Daltile, which is a cost-effective and durable brand, that has a wide variety of options to choose from. Since your bathroom is small and you are on a budget, I recommend avoiding a busy mosaic that can visually be overwhelming in a small space and can cost more to install sometimes. A larger tile or a slab look would be nice options in the space, as they are less visually busy and can be more affordable to install. Please see the options below. Check out their other options as well! This is the Daltile Sail Gloss Bevel 6x16 tile... This is the Daltile Glazed Porcelain Elemental Statuario surface used on the floor and walls... I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions!...See MoreGap between bathroom cabinet and stone countertop
Comments (5)It is very common for counters to be shimmed if your cabinets were not level. The stone is stronger level than if it was to be placed flat on an uneven surface. But this all depends on how high it was shimmed and the support it is given....See MoreWhat type of countertop for this older bathroom cabinet?
Comments (9)I once remodeled a bathroom, and my contractor kind of laughed when I told him I wanted to keep the vanity in there because it was still in good condition. It was about the size of your cabinet there on the left (but without the drawers I see yours has). He said that of all the things I was doing, a cabinet that size was going to be the least expensive thing, and I believe I got that cabinet, brand new, for about $300. So he was right. I'd price out cabinets, and I'd get drawers in them. If you're going to the trouble of replacing the counter, get new cabinets. Another thing is that if you go to a granite yard (not Home Depot), but a good, big place, they will have "prefab" counters in many nice colors. I have seen marble, quartz, granite, quartzite, etc, and it's all made up with a nice edge, and ready to go, with prices for your size of about $450-$800 (and I am in a HCOLA). Then you have a little left over for new cabinets. A professional installer has ways to properly support any span. Ask them how they will accomplish it, and pick someone with an excellent reputation....See MoreNancy in Mich
