Gap between bathroom cabinet and stone countertop

To level the master bathroom countertop in my new home, the contractor shimmed the countertop. The shims are under the front left and right corners. As a result, the left, right and front edge of the stone are floating with support along the back wall and the top shim corners only.

Is that an issue as far as the structural integrity of the stone is concerned? If yes, then why did the builder's rep approve it.

The entire stone is 9 feet x 2 feet.
