Alert from Palatine
Comments (29)Here is the complete 3/16 email. My reading of it is that they were not requesting a reply if the customer did not want to move up shipping to 3/23. Though they may have desired a reply from everyone. I agree that the italicized phrase suggests your email did not trigger their decision to phone all non-responders. Dear Rose Enthusiast, The development of Covid19 is in the forefront of most of our minds. Based on the daily changes in legislations and implemented necessary safety measures, we feel it prudent to ship as many orders into the United States as possible before further legislation prevents border crossings or closures of our US warehouse become in effect. Some of you have orders only due to ship in 6 weeks and so much can happen between now and then. For this reason we propose that we ship as many of our US orders as possible next Monday. If you are in an area that is still cold you can pot your roses as per this instructional video until planting time arrives. https://palatineroses.com/heeling-in-your-palatine-roses Please let us know right away if you want us to include your order to ship Monday March 23, 2020. Be assured that we are committed to adapting to this unprecedented situation as proactively as possible, keeping in mind that legislative changes and logistic issues are outside of our control. Thus we will continue to monitor all developments of COVID19 and our main concern is the safety and well being of our team, our customers, and everyone else involved in our company. In closing let's look out for each other and listen to the guidelines of various health organizations. Comments (42)@Kristine LeGault 8a pnw Kristine, I hate to "like" your comment, lol, but I do agree the whole experience was frustrating. There's a lot more detail to my travails with their website, but a lot of it is repetitive and not very interesting! But just one example is the Ascot I first had in my cart that was "sold out", then back, then "sold out" AGAIN before I could check out...on I think the fifth or sixth attempt. This was after hovering over my computer for at least three hours at this point. Never again....See MoreYou might want to check out Palatine Roses website right now.
Comments (15)This is why I don’t mind setting up my alarm when they open their website for shopping, nor website crashes neither virtual waiting rooms. The quality of Palatine bare root Roses is bare none. I got my roses from DA yesterday and to be honest, the overall quality wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. But my roses from Palatine always exceed expectations....See MoreBlack Caviar from Palatine
Comments (29)`Erasmus, I think your summers are probably 5-10 degrees cooler than mine were in Dallas, and that’s probably making a difference. Many of the newer roses blind shoot or sit dormant when the summer is hot all day and night In Texas (Ascot, Summer Romance, Mme Anisette, Savannah). I think your climate would be similar to Biltmore where Savannah Sunbelt won its award, and I bet no one would give it any accolades in a Dallas summer where it’s bloomless. The sunbelt name I find especially amusing. I have to say all the old popular HTs never have this problem…a Fragrant Cloud, Chrysler Imperial or Miss AAB is able to set decent buds in the hottest part of summer, always. And I’d much rather deal with the older HT’s fungal issues than these new roses inability to bloom....See More- 4 years ago
