Kitchen Aid Combo Micro/oven
Comments (5)I have had a similar model for 2 years. I believe it works fine both as convection oven and as a microwave. KA doesn't give the specs. I have kept a regular microwave oven in the garage for those times when something else is in the oven and I noted that potatos cook faster in the KA. In any case, I can't imagine that an extra 30 seconds for popcorn would be that terrible. I really like the short pre-heat time and energy savings. I cook muffins and biscuits successfully. I had a little problem with pies but now believe that it may have simply been that either the temp was off 10 degrees, or the automatic 25 degree convection decrease that the oven uses is not appropriate for such a small oven. Anyway I now increase temperatures in my oven by 10 degrees and get very good results....See MoreHelp me decide: Bosch double oven vs. KitchenAid oven/micro combo

Comments (13)dermnp - The countertop is quartz - Hanstone Bavaria. The paint is SW Svelte Sage. It is a cooler green, but yes, we do like it. It took a little getting used to, but now I'm really happy with the choice. I know it sounds crazy, but I don't even have the details on the backsplash. While our entire house was torn up with remodeling, both my parents were taken quite ill. I have a friend that does tile work, and as he knew I was in way over my head at the time, he just kind of took care of it for me. He showed me his choices, and I went along with it. I've never regretted it. rkb21 - As I love to cook and bake a LOT, I spent a lot of time shopping and choosing appliances. I actually considered some of the higher end models, but after carefully comparing the features and price, I bought the KA. The micro/convection is fantastic. It heats to 350 degrees in less than 5 minutes. Crisps and bakes like a champ. LOVE the soften/melt mode and steam cook features on the microwave. The larger oven bakes 3 big pans of cookies at a time and they are all perfect. At Christmas time, I hosted a group of friends and we baked 125 dozen cookies in one day. They were amazed at what this baby could turn out. With the large window in the door, my family thinks is better than watching HD TV. Good luck with your choices!...See MoreHeight of wall oven / micro convection combo
Comments (9)Here's my oven/micro combo in my galley (can't get any farther away hence the two pictures lol) kitchen. Same as stacieann63 said, mine is a 27" oven so narrower than the typical 30". The micro shelf is oddly shaped since it originally held a state-of-the-art 1979 built-in micro, which I replaced with my own Amana after we moved in. The micro cubby is 18" high. The cabinet above the micro is 21". The oven is 29" high and the cabinet below it is 22". The two cabinets are hugely deep to me but maybe because I've never had a wall oven before. I have my long-handled pizza peel in the top cab stored diagonally with extra inches to boot. The lower cab stores my pasta pot and large dutch oven, again with extra space behind. I have baking tray storage elsewhere so no dividers in these cabs. I'm 5'7" and find it easy to get at both the oven and micro. The upper cab I can only reach the first 6" or so without a stepstool and the lower I can reach the pasta pot and dutch oven easily but have to kneel to get at the back (so I put rarely used knick knacks back there).
