Just because it's cool...
Comments (14)Dorie; It looks like the A. konjac; I looked at all photos I could find. A. konjac is supposed to be the easiest to grow. Actually it is easy, just water here & there. I keep it outside in part shade during summer. Mark; thanks for the link - so far I didn't check Aroid forum since I spend too much time already on others...so decided to wait for the flower....maybe few years?! I never had chance to see the flowers. I received tuber from my aunt many yrs. ago, she said hers was blooming few times & it stunk. Toni; yes, it goes dormant & sprouts again soon after New year - depends when I start watering it. The tuber gets bigger every year. The tallest one I had was about2.5feet tall. Rina...See MoreJust wanted to share more photos
Comments (12)Again, TYVM (thank you very much) for all your wonderful comments about my photography! I still really am learning. Using the different setting on my camera for what I'm trying to get a photo of is FUN! There is a particular setting for looking directly into the sun and some for close ups--even micro as long as your hand is steady so it can focus. I really need to dig out my hubbies tri-pod and then get a mini one for myself to portably lug around myself. It is just so fascinating what I think is good and what others think is good. I think the wisteria one is alright. BUT, maybe I see past it and see the aphid infestation. A gardener who also loves photography is a double whammy. ...I really appreciate the comments. It encourages me to keep delving deeper into this maddening disease of photography too! ;^) Love, Jules...See MoreI just got to get back in here with 2 more photos

Comments (27)Donna, a lot depends on where you are and what time of year. In the north the summers are very hot and extremely humid, the season is called "The Wet" because there are frequent thunderstorms, some cyclones and flooding. Darwin has an almost daily thunderstorm the locals call "Hughie". In the south where I am, it's sort of half dry heat days and half humid days. The humidity builds and builds until you think "Dear Lord, just rain and get it over with" and then it doesn't :-/. This is just summer settling in. It will go to 45C/113F or even a little more on many days before summer is over :-(...See MoreSheila z8a Rogue Valley OR
