My House is Abloom
Since I got married at the Courthouse and had no flowers -- not even a corsage, our daughter made up for that at our anniversary party. The house was literally abloom with creamy white roses and hydrangeas. We gave some of the flowers away but the house is still filled -- except some are now upstairs!

Comments (107)And this is what spider looked like after I killed it... more like screamed for my mom to come downstairs and she after about 5 minutes of attempting to squish it finally succeeded and it moved around alot and fast kept crawling up and down on fireplace mantle.... while she tried stabbing it with a pool stick from the old pool table near by... and told me she cant do it was afraid to get a shoe or something to get close to it I yelled I am moving out today if we don't kill this now ! Lol finally we got an idea and sprayed it with some kitchen cleaner and it slowed down long enough for her to kill it . Wish I had better pics but was so freaked put when I saw it I only snapped the one very quickly just in case I lost it before it had a chance to be killed and only have the phone photo of it dead to try to help identify it.. Comments (23)He requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes & roasted zucchini, so that is what I am cooking. I just hope he gets home for dinner. I already have the ground beef in the fridge thawing out..Tomorrow morning I will peel the potatoes a & leave them in water. I will chop off the tough ends of the asparagus. Comments (19)Gray, thank you, that's the house. The property record is for Jolly Jims next door. I used to have a picture but lost it on the old pc and didn't even think of getting another one. Maybe the owner knows who owns the land. Danville used to be a busy place with Dan River Mill where some family members worked and I have the Button's Doll that my mom got somehow. Oh yeah, her twin sister's husband had a tobacco farm and we'd go there and play all the time. Salonva, do you ever feel like a piece of you is missing because you didn't know your grandparents? Carolb, my mom's oldest sister helped the twins when they graduated high school, and I think she paid mom's college tuition. Mom entered a radio contest to win a free wedding, dress, honeymoon to VA Beach, reception, the works. She won! I have their wedding pictures and it was a big reception. That's how I got her Franciscan dinnerware...apple design, it was one of her many gifts. You know she played the orphan card. lol...See MoreMy order went to my previous house. 4 years agoWe had almost 100 guests -- here is the food table in the dining room and the punch/cake table in the breakfast room
We served roast beef and chicken salad with Hawaiian rolls and mini croissants, a marinated vegetable platter and heart shaped gold sprinkled sugar cookies. The cake, rosemary roasted pecans and homemade mints and your choice of champagne punch or regular punch. There was also beer and a bar outside although I think only one person took advantage of the bar but several had a beer or two.User
