Do I have to give my pot filler away?
Comments (19)Did you set a minimum bid of $90 or was it a buy-it-now price? I'd either set a lower minimum bid (as igloochic suggested) and take your chances or do a buy-it-now auction and maybe even allow best offers if you don't mind taking less. It seems to me the largest expense to installing a pot filler would be the plumbing required, so I doubt people are hesitating just because of the price. They may not want to bid because your starting price is high enough that they don't feel compelled to bid right away, so they watch it instead and then they change their minds or move onto something else. I think you should encourage them to make a quick decision with a buy-it-now auction if you're not willing to roll the dice and set a low minimum bid. But if you are, $.99 usually gets things moving pretty fast! Good luck!!...See MoreFirst time visit to IKEA - what do I need to see?
Comments (20)Ikea works really hard to make sure you don't miss anything, with a meandering floorplan that takes you through all of their room displays and vignettes. Then they take you through the shopping area for small items. Even if you want to take a shortcut to a particular section, you have to be pretty familiar with their stores to find them. If you have anything particular in mind, bring measurements. A measuring tape and pencil and paper wouldn't hurt, although they usually have ones to grab there (stubby pencils and paper measuring tape). Any of the larger things in the room displays, you will just write down the info and location of where to find it in the warehouse. Small things you can pick up along the way, especially once you get to the small goods area. The food is really good and not too expensive. If you have any kid/grandkids/nieces/nephews/ friends with kids, the kids section has some cool stuff. I've gotten their multi-colored plastic dining set for a shower gift more than once--all my mommy friends had them--and I actually like the cup size for myself....See MoreI'm doing another Ikea kitchen
Comments (127)Update- It was incredibly slow renovating this house. I had it on the market for several months but my contracts kept falling out. A low appraisal killed the last deal. We had seller's remorse anyway. So we posted it on Craig's list for rent at a price we considered was high but just threw it out there. Immediately there is strong interest in the house. The rental market is so thin and rents in my area have finally gone up. So that puts a whole other view on is it worth it to fix a kitchen and rent the house out. I think it will get a more stable renter and not as much turn over at a higher price, judging from the applicants so far....See MoreTwo Ikea Kitchen Questions (Filler and Countertop Support)
Comments (7)I hadn't thought about using the filler to hide uneven walls. That's for that heads up Sophie! I actually have about 3.5 inches extra on that run and am trying to figure out where to put the filler, so adding some between the fridge and the wall won't be an issue. I guess I won't be able to put a refrigerator cover panel against that wall though, for the same reason you mentioned....See More- 4 years ago
