Is there double wide manufactured home with high ceiling like 10ft+?

I am not well versed with mobile or manufactured homes, the few that I was in, the ceilings were quite low more like 7ft. Is the low ceiling a matter of regulations or code? Any companies out there that makes a double wide with high ceilings?

In my experience most are 8’ and my guess would be moving them with a 10’ ceiling might be problematic so not done I am however only guessing.

If you never have to go under a bridge with it................................These are regulated, hon and it includes ceiling height.

Our house is in progress. We're doing JUST that...a contoured wood hood to the ceiling and 10 foot cabinets with molding above (the molding and the hood are not on yet) Here's some pics of the VERY rough kitchen without anything other than cabinets with unadjusted doors: Here's the hood. Well, not THE hood. The paint wasn't right so it has to be fixed. But that's the shape minus the molding at the top: Sink side of kitchen. I wish I'd have gotten a better shot since you can't see the glass cab on the right of the window. But you can see that in the range wall pic above I guess. There will be a window seat to the area to the left of the kitchen (that's the dining table area) with solid-door hutches on each side of those wing walls that face inwards. We are doing those to the ceiling to break up the line of cabinetry around the room and add height along with the hood. The built-ins on either side of the fireplace (that's covered up with that big board over on the left side) will go to 8 feet. Those will be cabinets on bottom and open shelves on the top with the backs painted out a gray shade: I looked to nini's kitchen for inspiration too. It's so pretty! Check with your builder to see what the difference is between 8', 9', and 10'. To stay proportional the windows and doors may need to be custom sized to fit. We had a 9' ceiling for 25 years. We just moved to an 8' ceiling house. I'm 6' and don't have a problem with the difference. With 9 or higher you will need a ladder to reach higher. With 8-ft I use a step stool. Heat does rise. In the winter this means you will want a fan to stir the warm air down with the cooler air. I used a table fan placed on the ground and aimed toward the ceiling. It makes a big difference. In the summer the same thing happens. I run the fan 24/7/365. Smoke rises, too. We had a house fire several years ago in the 9-ft house. It started in the kitchen where there were no smoke detectors. Smoke had to fill the kitchen ceiling down to the door frames before it poured into the dining room. Then it had to fill the dining room down to the door frames. Once it filled the dining room it had to fill the living room down to the door frames. Once it filled the living room it set off the smoke detector in the hallway. The fire burned for at least 30 minutes, and I was awake the entire time in a lower part of the house. So if you are wiring for wired smoke detectors, keep that in mind.

Different window and door heights for 10ft ceiling

Depending on your choice of trim, the windows/doors might end up different heights regardless. I was thinking about this thread a bit earlier while we were at our build and then looking at some other houses in construction. As I mentioned upthread, we have 10/8 and 9/6'8 ceiling door combinations on the 1st and 2nd. Our HOA doesn't allow for 10' on the 2nd floor :( Part of the difference in the feel is exaggerated by the stairs going upstairs being in the great room which has a 22' vaulted ceiling. Going up the stairs immediately there are 2 doors which feel low. To try and combat that, we added crown to the family room there to try and draw eyes away from the door frames. Will report back if that works! Keep in mind too that the width of the doors can also affect the perceived spatial characteristics. A neighbor has the same issue with transition, but on their 2nd floor they have a 5 foot cased opening with 6'8 doorway. I know it's a 9 foot ceiling but walking through it after the 10/8 below felt like one of the seven dwarves reporting for work at the mine. A mix of heights isn't terribly bad. Our basement has 9.5 and a mix of 8 and 6'8 depending if it's finished/unfinished areas. In large open spaces the 6'8 seems fine, the 8 is nice to define bedroom/office area.

A couple of things strike me right away that throw the room off. First is the rug: It needs to be much much larger, and it should never be narrower than the couch. Second is to get longer curtains and hang them about a foot higher than they currently are. The art arrangement over the piano doesn't work; we'll remedy that. I like your fireplace and built ins. The shelves just need to be better styled--there are some good articles on Houzz to help with that, but basic rule is 1/3 books. 1/3 objects. 1/3 empty space--and I'd remove everything now over the mantel and use art. I suspect you can buy new furniture for no more than what it would cost to upholster yours, but that's a decision for you to make. I'll return later with a rendering of your room.

Yes, Most of the major manufactured home companies: Caveco, Clayton, Silvercrest are all customizable. You can get 9ft side walls with a 1:12 or 2:12 pitch open and it will give you minimum 10ft high ceilings

Kit homes can have raised ceilings. They’re quite stunning.

I have a modular home (NOT a manufactured home). It got moved to my lot in pieces. The moving aspect is an important consideration.

I could have ceilings as high as I want, theoretically. A modular home is hardly different from a stick built home as far as interior design considerations.

However, the modular boxes have to be legal to truck down the highway in your area.

Not legal?.. to reach 10', you could have boxes that stack on top of each other. This is very common.

My modular has a 10' ceiling in one area. IMO it's excessively tall from an interior design point of view. Plus, it's inefficient energy-wise. We needed to go with that height to get the roof pitch correct.
