I was beginning my remodel at this time last year and i must have missed this.......it's so beautiful it deserves a second go round at the top of the forum for all the people who missed it. The cheap hand held sprayers do not spray heavy bodied paints or primers. If you thin the product enough so that it will spray, its integrity has been compromised. The hand held Graco sprayers will spray heavy bodied latex or oil paints, but the price range is about $180 to $270. Simple air compressor powered siphon guns will also not spray heavy bodied paints or primers. Even if they did, they require large compressors capable of delivering large volumes of air. If you only have a few shutters, you might consider the spray cans of CoverStain, primer which is rated for exteriors. This is a quick dry oil primer. One trick I always use by spray cans is to heat the cans by putting it in hot water as hot as it comes out the faucet ( about 125 degrees). This increases the pressure in the can so that it sprays better. Being an oil product, the viscosity of the primer is also lowered, so that the l.ighter liquid simply sprays better.

Thanks for the feedback. Revolutionary Gardens based on your suggestion, I went to the local lighting store. They had some suggestions, but fewer than I hoped because ...now I am also looking for lights that are LED. (Last week I had a prelim walk-through with the electrician who recommended LED lights. Otherwise, to meet code, I'd have to put them on a timer or motion detector). SO.....anyone have leads on lights that are a) Wet Rated b) LED and... c) look good w/ a bungalow or cottage. I'm looking for 1 flush-mount/semi-flush-mount (can be damp rated), 2 down lights and 2 pair of sconces. Thanks in advance for any leads or help!

Would do either brick or stone over the foundation only and siding above that. Use only one kind of material in the gables -- perhaps horizontal siding the rather than vertical. Would not put any hip roof on any part of the house. Stay with gables and steep slopes with straight edges at the bottom of the slopes all around for your gutter. Would change the roof to have one and only one ridge line height -- the higher height -- and decrease the number of gables to be one facing the left end of your home, one facing right end of your home and one facing the end of the angle of the garage -- not over where the garage doors are now shown . Would not cut corners in the cost to cut corners and create angles in the garage. Would keep the walls leading from the home to the outer left edge of the garage straight all the way to the end and would seriously consider putting two garage doors the same size in that angled end of the garage even if that means adding and additional few feet to the garage length -- definitely would not pour the front yard in concrete for a driveway. Extend the width of the forward facing gable over the front entry to cover both the front entry and those two larger longer/taller windows to the right of it. Extend the depth of the forward facing gable to cover a porch at least 6' deep. Where you currently have windows in the upstairs in gables, the slopes of which will take away room from your upstairs rooms, add dormers there rather than full gables enabling you to have more/larger windows and more room / headroom in the upstairs rooms.
