Would these 2 chairs work in my living room?
Comments (9)Thanks, everyone. The seller of the first chairs hasn't responded yet, but I just realized that she's an hour away (even though the ad is listed in my county). She's very close to my DD though so if she responds I'll ask my DD to look at them for me. Now that I'm home, I think they will fit in the space, unless they're much larger than they appear in the picture. judithva - thanks so much for posting the picture of your gorgeous living room and weighing in on the comfort factor. I'm going to have to google Charles Faudree tonight - thanks so much for the tip! lindanj - it is the RH large library media unit. I don't think you could easily use the three pieces separately without some modification. The crown molding at the top fits together like a puzzle and the interior sides are finished like the exterior. It's made to bolt together. I've restyled the shelves for a more uniform look since the picture was taken, based on a lot of great advice given by fellow gardenwebbers. I need to post progress pics and get some more feedback!...See MoreReclining Sectional and redoing the living room
Comments (5)I totally forgot!! When we were finished with the build, our builder hired a professional photographer and I posted them on here. I just had to go back and find them. The fireplace is to the right. You can see our back door, windows to the backyard, kitchen, broom/vacuum cabinet, and dry bar. Front door, reading nook, and dry bar. Angle from close to our back door. Hopefully this will give people a better idea of our space....See MoreHelp Please!!! Looking for elegant, yet comfortable & transitional
Comments (28)This heating/cooling unit (convector) is what you see when you walk into my living room. So even though I thought i was going to do a 88 inch sofa and two chairs (see above, groveraxle was kind enough to put in two chairs facing my sofa), perhaps I should do a 80" sofa and put a 6O" loveseat in front of this convector to hide it, and a chair across the room. I covered my dining room chairs (which is a little higher than the sofa would be) to make it look like a love seat. Does this look crowded? I have two versions one with the sofa in front of the convector and one with the chairs, same idea. The sofa I want is by Hallagan ( it supports my head and no tea cushions and slim arms, love it, see above) and I was going to do beige, ( see above with the nail heads) because I am not nuts about most grays. Thank Goodness I took Sabrina Alfin Interiors advise and looked for a rug first, could not find anything that complimented my fabric! I don't like Oriental rugs, too busy. It seems like any rugs with design has gold/ yellow and it looks terrible with my potential fabric (see above). I really wanted to do a creamy white, unfortunately Hallagan has limited fabrics and the two white fabrics I don't like. This is so hard!!! Final question, if I use nail heads can I use nail heads on both sofas. The chair will be in a different fabric. I am giving away what is left in my living and starting from scratch. Again thanks for all the useful advise!!!...See MoreAdvice on living room recliner color
Comments (22)Hi, Rosalind Therrien. There are a few furniture stores that are relatively close to Hendersonville (less than 50 miles) that carry Hancock and Moore. Benson & Babbs, Hendersonville, NC Tyson Furniture, Black Mountain, NC Grindstaff's, Forest City, NC Old Colony Furniture, Greenville, SC The Summer House, Highlands, NC They have a really beautiful product that is built to last. They are not cheap, but I highly recommend experiencing their craftsmanship in person if you're up for a short trip, if for no other reason than comparative purposes. As an aside - I am in no way affiliated with Hancock and Moore. I've seen and sat in their furniture in person and was really taken by the quality. That's all....See Moresuezbell
