Lukkirish, I canoot upload any pictures, if I do, my computer will explode. I'm on strict orders not to uploand for this reason. However, when my daughter comes home from school today, I'll ask her to take a couple of pictures with her camera and upload them on her computer to this thread. Bronwynsmom: I do not want a trite look for this bathroom, although I am a lover of pink. When I hang dry all of my clothing it's pretty much pinks, lovely greens, and blacks with a blue something thrown in, plus of course denim. I appreciate the advice. Especially on the white trim. Someone up-thread told me to match the cabinetry, which is a fairly stark white, so that is a good thing. Is the best way to compare whites to go to the paint store and look at the sample chips under the flourescent lighting fixtures at that display? I do want a soft white... softer than the cabinets. What makes a white "soft" looking? That Ballard bedroom is gorgeous, Pink Fairy is a really lovely shade of pink as well. It is gorgeous with all of the beige/taupe trim and accent pieces. And again I'm seeing it a large, airy room. My bathroom is small and stuffed with things like sinks and cabinets. Is there a rule about what color does when you bring it into a smaller room and you are standing close to it? I would think that, to the eye, the color is intensified. We used the Crema Marfil for the backsplashes in my kitchen reno and love the beauty of it. Our cabinets are all a dark brownish cherry and we went with Silestone counters in "Dark Canyon". It's a mixture of browns, cream and black and we love it. My good friend used a gorgeous, rather plain black marble for her counters. While they look stunning, they're also a HUGE PIA to keep looking nice, as they show every last little water spot and fleck of dust! The color of your counters will set the tone for your bathroom. If you use a black, I think you'll need to incorporate that into the accessories of your bathroom to help balance the dark and light . . . which would look gorgeous, if that's a look you'd like. Texashottie's idea to use the Crema Marfil on the counters and paint (or stain) the vanity itself is another good idea. I think, if this is a home you plan on being in for a while, you need to decide which direction you want the accessories to go and then pick your counter color. The Crema would give you more options, but either would look great, I think.

In the picture, black is the current layout. Green is the change if only shower was made bigger and one door would be eliminated. Red is a complet demo, removing the wall section between two toilets. All the water lines from upstairs are in the section of the wall that is between two toilets so removing this wall would require a major move of water lines to the side and there would have to be a section of wall kept behind new toilet and vanity. The door from master would have to be framed and move to the left as a pocket or barn door. The drowing is disproportionate. It is all very cramped in there Current shower is only 26"x26". But may be replacing vanity for a wall hung vanity in the larger bathroom would change the feel. It will all have to be torn down and replaced including removing subfloors as they are rotten. So either remodel will be a lot of work. What should we do?

Millworkman, I think I must have read somewhere that you shouldn't use granite on MDF cabinets Patricia Colwell Consulting, the vanity does not come with a top. It was just shown with a top. The Hayneedle website description said it was just the cabinet and it is just the cabinet (arrived this past Friday). Siamesey, I hear ya but since I spent a ton of money converting the tub to shower, I have to save where I can. Unfortunately, when you combine the needs of my mother (the main user of this bathroom), the style that I would like, along with the need to work around the plumbing location, I actually don't have a lot of choices. It's been really hard to combine the first two of those and find a vanity with drawers on the left hand side (the plumbing dictate). I looked at custom made and even semi custom made and no, I can't do that. Even though the vanity is made of MDF and is RTA, to me it has better quality than some of low end all wood vanities that I've seen. Also, most of the cabinets I've looked at still seem to have MDF in them somewhere, especially white cabinets which is what I wanted for this bathroom.
